Wonderful Mouse - Great for Gaming
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never owned a mouse designed specifically for gaming so this was a new experience. I'm very pleased with the AW610M from Alienware and it was worth the wait. The mouse matches my Alienware tower PC although I would still have been interested if I did not have the color-matched computer. It is possible to synchronize the color effects on both the mouse and the tower if you have the Alienware Command Center installed. I opted to have them both fade in out with red lights, like a "Red Alert" on a submarine. The mouse itself is very comfortable and I particularly like the fins that hang off the back. They provide lots of support for my wrist which is usually the first place I notice aching after a long-ish gaming session. The mouse is wide enough not to feel cramp from gripping for long periods but still moves quickly enough to use for gaming. I liked that I have the choice of using it wired or wireless. I have not noticed any speed issues running it on my preferred setup of wireless. I use the included dongle and just plugged it in the front of my tower but Dell recommends using the included extension cable and USB adapter to get a better connection. The mouse has a built-in rechargeable battery and you can recharge it with the included USB cable that connects to a recessed port in the front of the mouse. There is a button behind the scroll wheel that switches between the various DPI options and also lights up to show when the battery needs recharging. You can also see in the Command Center app which lists the percentage of power left in the mouse settings. You can customize up to seven buttons to specific games if you open up the Alienware Command Center and take the time to configure the mouse there. It is possible to tie these to specific games so it switches settings and colors on the computer and/or mouse (if set) when the game starts up. The mouse has a button underneath for setting scroll speed as well as the aforementioned button to switch between the various DPI modes for mouse tracking resolution. As you click through, the button's colors change so that blue is 800 dpi, green (default) is 1600, yellow is 3500, orange is 9000 and red is 16,000 dpi. This is nice to be able to do on the fly, rather than hunt through software settings. It also makes it more convenient to adjust sensitivity from game to game. The rechargeable battery supposedly lasts up to 350 hours which is impressive. I have yet to push it that much but so far, it appears to be economical with power consumed. The mouse is very tactile and I find it ergonomic as well. It feels good to use for gaming and I have no complaints on the comfort level. All in all, this is an impressive input device and certainly one I enjoy using on a daily basis. It makes for an attractive and highly functional gaming mouse and I look forward to customizing it as I add more games to my library.

Excellent 1600dpi Wireless Gaming Mouse
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Alienware AW610M is an excellent ambidextrous, wireless gaming mouse. The Lunar Light color scheme sports the classic computer slightly off-white with a black rear base that serves as a thumb rest. In terms of lighting, there's little strips on the side of the thumb rest base that light up, as well as the Alienware logo and another strip behind the thumb wheel. Only the latter serves any true function, but it's a gaming mouse, so lighting efx are essential. The overall shape is a bit odd at first, like a regular sized mouse with a black tail stuck onto it, but it grows on you. I think the fins of the black base that serves as thumb rests could use more contour. It makes for an interesting shape, but it's not the most comfortable mouse I've used. This is likely due to being an ambidextrous design. Functionally, this mouse is fantastic. It uses a 1600dpi PixArt sensor, which is honesty overkill, but I guess you can't have a serious gaming mouse today without at least offering 1600dpi. It's just too sensitive in most situations. Thankfully, there's a button right behind the scroll wheel that lets you adjust the dpi on the fly. It can be customized to 5 user programmable levels in the Alienware Command Center app, which you'll need to download to customize the settings on this keyboard. From the Command Center, you can set the different level of dpi, individual mouse lighting, lift off clearance, and program macros for the side buttons. In terms of setup, it's straight up plug and play. This is NOT a bluetooth mouse, so you'll have to use the provided cable and use it as a wired mouse, or simply plug in the USB receiver and you'll be up and running in seconds. As a high end wireless gaming mouse, it polls at 1000hz, so it's extremely responsive, which is also likely also why there is no bluetooth option. Thankfully, the micro usb cable it comes with also serves as a charging cable, which powers a battery that lasts a claimed 350 hours on a single charge! That's just over 2 weeks on a single charge and that is absolutely amazing. The Alienware 610M is a well-built, responsive gaming mouse with a battery life of over 14 days on a single charge. Alienware takes their products seriously and it shows.

Beautiful Landing Craft
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great looking high performance input device that fits a theme. The high brightness RGB "landing beacons" are mesmerizing and hard to miss. Much ado about battery life: The caveat of performance is consumption. That asterisk next to the 350hr battery life claim assumes your in dark mode.

Nicest, most feature-rich mouse I’ve ever used!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This new Alienware Gaming Mouse is nothing short of amazing!! There is very little not to love here. It works great for everyday apps , performs fabulously for games where more precision is required, and looks super high-tech, especially paired with the 510K keyboard, set to color “breathe mode”. PROS + offers both wired (charging) and wireless usage modes + adjustable page scroll gear (mouse underside switch, down scrolls 2x as fast) + adjustable DPI 800, 1600 (default), 3500, 9000, and 16,000 DPI + pull for lower DPI (blue), push to super fine for UHD monitors (red) + solid click Omrom switches + large well-placed quick stab thumb buttons + 7 customizable buttons, configurable per game, plus on/off + 350 hour rechargeable Li-ion battery (I trust but didn’t audit) + perfect Aesthetic match with Alienware Aurora R9 and matching 510k keyboard CONS -learning curve sans instructions, unintuitive on initial install -< I missed quick start guide on the side of the box > -Alienware Command Center required for full benefits -dare I say it’s possibly “too configurable” leading to analysis paralysis -large hands result in thumb and pinky drag over the short side fins CONCLUSION I highly recommend this product, in fact it makes using my standard trackpad on the laptop feel like i'm missing out.

A Few Nitpicks, But an All-Around Great Performer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alienware is easily one of the most recognizable names in gaming, and for good reason. Over the years they have earned their reputation for offering strong performing products, at reasonable price-points, with highly unique styles. This Alienware AW610M Gaming Mouse is no different, clearly building on years of experience to craft something that was the perfect addition to my gaming set-up. The mouse is solidly built, with a textured plastic material that feels durable. The mouse itself is generally low-profile, with a body that feels longer, rather than taller. This took a bit of getting used to for me, as I am used to more rounded mouse bodies which are a bit taller in the hand, but overall, it didn’t take me long to get used to the more elongated form-factor of the mouse. I have large hands, so the mouse does feel a bit small in my hand, but not so much that I find it distracting. Additionally, the elongated form factor of the mouse means my fingers are stretched over the long left and right clickers, giving me less travel time to press the clickers, which is something I definitely noticed when playing FPS games. The back of the mouse has matte black fins which extend to both sides of the mouse. This provides slight support for both the thumb and pinky fingers, and allows the mouse to be ambidextrous. However, I did find the fins small enough with my larger hands that they didn’t really provide much in the way of substantial support. Nonetheless, they are nice additions which help compliment the design of the mouse. In terms of functionality, the mouse has the elongated left and right clickers, two customizable macro buttons on the left-side of the mouse, a textured black scroll wheel, and a button just behind the scroll wheel which lets you adjust the DPI of the mouse for different sensitivity levels. This adjustable DPI button is certainly a welcome feature, and works well with the different DPI levels, however, the color coding associated these DPI changes is not at all clear. What I mean by this is that the RGB bar behind the DPI button will change colors as you adjust the DPI level, however, there is no indication of what color matches with which DPI level, and so many times it comes down to adjusting the DPI, testing the mouse, re-adjusting, and so forth until you dial it in. It is not a big deal, but allowing customizable color-ramping with the DPI levels would be nice, in order to make the DPI levels easier to detect. Speaking of RGB, in addition to the RGB bar on the top of the mouse, there is also an RGB Alienware logo on the palm rest, and two RGB bars on each side of the palm fins. I am a big fan of subtle RGB touches, and the RGB on this mouse is bright, but accented well enough that it doesn’t get distracting during gaming sessions. You can use the customizable Alienware control center to adjust the RGB colors, or create custom profiles for different games. Overall, for those that love RGB, you won’t be limited on options here in any way, and if you have other Alienware gear, you can control everything nicely from one location. In terms of performance, I have been using this mouse for about a week now as my daily gaming peripheral, and I have no complaints at all. The mouse tracks perfectly with the action on screen, and the adjustable DPI made the whole experience highly customizable. The mouse clickers have good tactile feedback and aiming in games feels very natural. Recently I have been playing Remedy’s Control, and I have had zero complaints jumping in and getting right into the action. All-in-all, there isn’t a whole lot to say on the mouse’s performance because it just works as it is supposed to. It tracks well, even on a flat desk without a mousepad, and has a comfortable feel that can be used for hours without complaint. Overall, I am a big fan of this mouse. There are minor improvements that could be made, such as extending the thumb and pinky finger fins, making the mouse slightly taller and/or wider, adding more customizable buttons, and additional DPI level color customization. None of this detracts from the full experiences of the mouse however, and overall, I have very little to nitpick. The battery life is long, it charges quickly via USB cable, and is dead simple to set-up and get running. Definitely recommended for those looking for a simple and effect wireless gaming peripheral solution.

A comfortable mouse with nice buttons
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dell made a comfortable mouse for long term use. I like the hammerhead design and the side buttons are easy to reach. The scroll wheel is nice though I wish I could adjust its resistance. There is a button to change the DPI and it comes in handy when going from a 3rd person game to scrolling through a map. There are four RGB areas including the Alienware logo, you have to go through the Alienware Command Center to adjust then. It’s not the best software but it works. My only issue is that the mouse charges via micro USB that has a proprietary housing around the connector. It also uses a USB connector for wireless use. This mouse came out 1-2 years ago but it should have used USB-C, like the new one. I haven’t used the new one but it’s smaller, only has one RGB light, and is more designed for portable use. I’m sure it’s fine for that but, if I’m going to sit for a few hours gaming, I want something larger that conforms to my hands.

Solid Choice
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up the Alienware AW610M, and I have to say—it’s a solid gaming mouse! Right out of the box, it feels premium and well-built, with a comfortable ergonomic design that fits nicely in my hand. The adjustable DPI (up to 16,000) makes a big difference, whether I’m sniping in Call of Duty or just casually browsing. The wireless mode is super responsive, with zero lag, and I love that you can switch to wired mode if needed. Battery life is insane—lasts for days on a single charge. The RGB lighting is subtle but adds a nice touch, and the side buttons are easy to reach and customize. Only downside? It’s a little on the heavier side compared to other gaming mice, but honestly, you get used to it. If you’re looking for a high-performance, reliable gaming mouse, this one is definitely worth it!
