It runs hot, and because of all of the Alienware apps the systems memory is always maxed out. I've reloaded the OS from scratch, and that did help, but to get the most out of the system you need to have the Alienware apps. I bought this laptop 8\29\2020 and yesterday 5/7/2021 it will not power on. I called Dell to have it serviced, but there are no parts to be had until 5/20/2021. NOTE: you can't upgrade this system. I asked can I just get the newer laptop which has a 3070, and I would pay the difference, but Dell will not do that. So I have to wait another 13 days until the part, and only after that date will they offer me a replacement laptop.

While waiting to get the part, if system thermals are of concern, below are steps that can help with overheating in the future.
• To tune your system, go to Alienware Command Center and select out of 4 different thermal profiles that will help you manage system temperatures as well as performance output to your preference. These include Cool, Quiet, Balanced, and Performance thermal profiles.
• Our Alienware m15 follows 8th and 9th generation Intel performance design guidelines, which can lead CPU temperatures to reach 100°C to output top in-game performance.

Worst laptop purchase I've ever made

The software seemed to randomly eat up almost all 16gb of my ram for seemingly no reason and with no other applications running. The fan issue hadn't shown itself until I put it on a laptop stand at a slight incline, and at that point my warranty on the product was already expired. Overall, probably my worst PC purchasing experience, likely won't be buying another Dell PC again.

A lot of software update necessary. Some updating tools don't work. Too much hassle and difficulty to use for the price. Configuration of laptop has limited availability. Cant upgrade RAM is a big downer

Never go wrong with Alienware

Quality not worth the price

Cons- Charge doesn't stay even for 2 hrs- used for only browsing not any high intensity games. Quality of video camera is poor. Had to return within a week.

Thanks for your review and we're sorry that your new Alienware computer did not meet all of your needs. In the future, here are some tips to help extend the life of your computer's battery:
Change the Power Plan:
1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
2. On the options list, click Power Options.
3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.
a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
c) Turn Battery Saver On or Off.
d) Additional settings available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver feature.
