So far this thing is a beast!! Very fast processor and the gpu is well worth it. I like Alienware it’s always performed well for me. I have an Alienware rig as well. I decided to go with a laptop for portability Andrew it hasn’t disappointed. I caught it on sale.

This is a nice gaming laptop. pretty powerful, amd nvidia combo. this is one of alienwares first amd cpu based laptops. the alienware command center takes some getting used to. it does perform very well, runs pretty cool, im liking it so far. hopefully it lasts a long time. we shall see. id say overall this is a great laptop. take a chance and buy it.

I bought this as my first gaming laptop which I was very excited for. However I had download programs to prevent this laptop from over heating. It gets extremely hot where it can actually burn your skin which is shocking. Battery life is terrible but the rest is not as bad once you learn how to prevent the issues dell was suppose to take care of before selling this product. Anyways I’m happy with my purchase after I tweaked it. Overpriced but it gets the job done.

This thing got the job done for both gaming and as a laptop but it kinda sucks at both of them. it can run modern games at full specs but it heats up like crazy, You'd be better off spending the money on a pre-built PC and a budget laptop to cover your bases instead of this frankenstein middleground

I like the laptop a lot. My main reason for buying it over other laptops with similar specs was the way it looks. The keyboard is really good for a laptop and the laptop works mostly well. It does heat up a bit but there are BIOS setting tweaks for it that I'm yet to try. The Best Buy service has been good with the retail outlet agents being really helpful. I had put in the wrong billing address, and they helped me correct it even though their system didn't allow them to do it in a straightforward way. I'm grateful to them for going an extra step.

The reason I wanted this laptop was because it claimed 360 hz refresh rate, Ryzen 9, 3070 nvidia graphics card. All in all, it claimed good specs. However, the laptop was not at all operating the way I expected it to… It restarted on me when all I was doing was surfing the web, plugged in the laptop to the charger (even though the laptop was on 70%) and it finally charged to 100% — but on 100% it will only last 1 hour and 38 minutes! Thats ridiculous! The battery is horrible! The worst part is, I turned on the laptop and I let it sit there for a couple of minutes, without signing in yet, and the fans started blowing really hard, the laptop got really hot. Before returning this laptop I took it to Geek Squad and they stated that its “normal because the air has no where to go”thats absured. Dont buy this laptop, its not worth it.

I bought this after purchasing an HP Omen 16.1 that was absolutely horrible> I am glad i did cause this alienware laptop is beyond amazing and an absolute beast! I had an alienware M17 R3 but needed something smaller before i got the omen and this laptop blows both them out the water! The m17 was i7 with 2070 Super and there is a noticeable increase in performance with this M15 R5. This laptop has so many features im still finding thats amazing. It has an Facial id Scanner for logging into the laptop without a pin also has a MUX switch to allow the GPU to run as the main unlike many other laptops that dont give you that option and that is what makes this an absolute great deal. There may be other laptops cheaper with a better gpu but if it doesnt have a mux switch it will not use the full power of that gpu and instead use the cpu and gpu limiting power. THIS ALIENWARE M15 R5 HAS A MUX SWITCH!!!

Great and FAST laptop! The only thing I can say as not quite "cool" is the big charger and that the battery won't last too long... It will, but not as much... other than that, it is a MUST have, I switched from an i5 to this Ryzen 9..... LOVING IT.

This laptop is solid. Purchased this open box item at an qmazing price. Like everyone says, it runs hot but the temp it runs at is what it reated for but i prefer to run a little cooler. Take 10min or less and make a few adjustments in the bios set the cpu temp not to exceed what you like and you will be fine. This does take away a tad bit of performance, as far as numbers go, but you will not notice. If your worried about if your getting 110 fps or 120 fps in a certain game...well, i will say quit measuring numbers and have fun playing. Keyboard is good and tracking pad is average sound is average from the speakers, screen is really good... but lets be real anyone who plays on the gaming laptops have headphones, gaming mice and whatever other peripherals to help them enjoybthe experience. This is a awesome computer ...have fun and play!

Great gaming laptop. Best Buy had a better setup than direct from Dell. A 1 TB SSD was not an option as a customization on Dell. Very happy with this. Best value right now. Battery life is poor, as expected, when utilizing all the grap.hics in a game. This is pretty standard for any high demand application on a laptop. Very fast boot up but remember, this is still Windows. This came with Windows 11 and the boot up is more refined, but don't expect the same boot time as even a 2018 MacBook Pro (my other laptop). Display is nice but in such a small screen, getting a 4K display is overkill and guarantees to tank that battery time. I wish the laptop build was more premium, much like the one piece all aluminum design some other PC manufacturers have started adoption and the one that Apple uses. The frame feels like flimsy plastic.

I bought an Alienware R15 M5 during an open box sale. The screen would just blackout during ordinary use and I could not tweak fan setting in the Command Center.

Pros: - Great specs (CPU, GPU, RAM, etc) - Refresh rate (360hz) - MUX switch - Plenty of ports - 2 actual RAM slots, easily upgradable - Second nvme slot Cons: - Runs hot under load - Fan noise gets a bit loud at times I've had this laptop for about 10 days now. So far, no complaints. I upgraded the RAM immediately from the included 16gb to 32gb. I also added a second 1tb nvme ssd. This things screams through everything I've thrown at it so far. My only concern was the level of heat coming off of it, but I'm using a program called Ryzen Controller to help put a thermal limit on the CPU/etc. I'd read about this issue in reviews before buying this machine, so I was prepared for this. Ryzen Controller is working great and I'm not concerned about overheating issues anymore. The 360hz screen is buttery smooth. It's 1080 and not 4k, but for this size screen, that doesn't make much difference. Outputting to a 4k display looks gorgeous and the GPU didn't seem to notice the additional load. I can't speak much to the battery life, as I really don't use this away from my desk. It's almost always plugged in. That being said, the few times that I've run it on battery only, I have noticed the GPU can eat it up relatively quickly (which is to be expected). If you're running a graphics-intensive game, you're going to want to be near an outlet. Overall, I'm very happy with this laptop. It should keep me going for several years, until I'm ready to upgrade again.

Great laptop! I haven’t experienced any concerns or issues. I travel with it back and forth internationally. I originally bought msi laptop and saw this and didn’t think too much to exchange .

Solid gaming laptop easy to use and very fast. I did a memory upgrade to 32gb lighting fast

My fianceé got this and he absolutely loves it! We had an issue with the computer going down. Having the total tech subscription, we were able to get it fixed without paying for anything. I absolutely love it all.
