I found a great desktop replacement. Fast processor and powerful video with all the necessary peripherals. Large vivid screen with responsive refresh rate. This laptop is capable of overclocking with manufacturer supported software. A superbly built machine from Dell’s gaming line Alienware. I personally boosted the ram from 16 gb to 64 gb and then benchmarked the laptop. It reached to the 94th percentile for speed in comparison to all the computers in the database. Very impressive and well worth the cost.

I've had it for around a month and a half now, It actually runs really great the fans are a bit loud but I just put on my headphones and I can't hear a thing, it doesn't get hot or anything, maybe a bit warm but I can run a lot of different games such as ARK Survival on basically Max Settings. I really like the computer and I will probably just be upgrading the ram and SSD eventually.

The Alienware M16 is fast and handles almost any game with no issues when plugged in. The screen looks great and overall performance is solid. The only downside is that on battery, performance drops a lot—even lightweight games like Balatro stutter. It also runs hot and the fans can get pretty loud. Still, if you're mostly gaming while plugged in, it’s a strong choice.

If you're really into gaming or creating content, the Alienware 4070 laptop is a total game-changer—no joke. I've been using it for a couple of weeks, and I believe it’s worth checking out. The Alienware 4070 laptop is an excellent option for gamers and creators seeking desktop-level performance in a portable form. If you're looking to boost your gaming or creative process, this device is definitely worth the investment.

I've had this laptop for two months now. Here is the bottom line...if you buy this for gaming, you must know that there will be drawbacks. The laptop runs hot, the fans can be loud when spinning fast, and if you are not plugged in, the battery will be trash. That is understood. Here are the positives: the 240 Hz screen is so good. Even doing normal things will look better. The keyboard and trackpad are actually better than I thought. You can certainly use this for work. Of course it's a workhorse with that processer, so you'll be good there. Speaking of battery, if you do have to be unplugged, put it in energy save mode, and it will give you a good 4 - 5 hours of life. Probably good enough for a solid day of light work. Overall, it's a great machine. It looks good, has plenty of ports, doesn't attract finger prints and, of course, plays games well. The power brick is also smaller that I thought it would be. You will not be disappointed.

Considering this laptop? Chances are you've perused reviews and discussions on platforms like Reddit or YouTube. Let's delve into the pros and cons, and why I prefer this over its alternatives. Pros: Smooth Gaming Experience: Despite not sporting a 4080/4090, the performance remains beyond reasonable. I managed to play CP77 at a constant 90fps with ray-tracing, a feat my desktop 3080 Ti can't achieve due to its incapability with the new DLSS architecture. Remarkably, this mobile GPU accomplishes this with half the power consumption. Sleek Design: Unlike many 16-inch gaming laptops with bulky profiles, this model strikes a happy medium resembling an older XPS, without the big thermal hump on the back. Upgradable Memory: It ships with a 2x8GB SK Hynix kit instead of a soldered 1x16GB, facilitating easy upgrades to 32GB memory for an additional $100. It supports up to 2x32GB 5600MT/s, unlike some competitors that hinder future upgrades by soldering on memory. Accessible NVMe Slots: Installing a secondary drive took less than 5 minutes, and it supports up to 8TB of total onboard storage. Convenient IO: The 240w barrel on the back conserves desk space, while side-mounted SD and USB A ports provide easy access. While having one USB-C port on the side would have been preferable, the Thunderbolt 4 DP and USB 3.2 with DP serve specific purposes. Multi-OS Support: Dell directly supports Windows 10, 11, and Ubuntu through their support site. US-based Company: Dell's US base and historically transparent privacy policies make it a trustworthy option compared to competitors like Legion, known for issues like Superfish adware. Cool Keyboard and Palm Rest: The matte surface remains relatively cool even under heavy concurrent CPU and GPU loads. Cons: Loud Fan Noise: The laptop can get very loud, especially in Performance Mode, reaching 55-60dB from 1 meter away. However, this can be mitigated with closed-back headphones. Limited Memory: It comes with only 16GB of memory, so factor in the cost of a new memory kit when comparing prices. Display Brightness: With only 300 nits, the display falls short of what should have featured 400 nits, though it remains easy to use at 70-80% brightness. Potential for Improved Processor: Similar models in this price range may feature 9-series processors. However, the performance and thermals of the Intel Ultra 9 chipsets for this model remain untested, and historically, i9 chips tend to throttle, potentially leading to better performance from the i7. In conclusion, I bought this laptop with the intention to upgrade the memory and SSD, and I'm not disappointed. I will update this review as time goes on.

The Alienware m16 R2 is a gaming powerhouse that delivers exceptional performance and stunning visuals. Its 240Hz QHD+ display is a visual treat, and the powerful hardware effortlessly handles demanding games and creative tasks. However, the battery life could be better for longer gaming sessions. Overall, it's a top-tier gaming laptop that's worth considering for serious gamers and content creators.

Love this laptop! I wish the display could go brighter, however, it’s very fast and I love the RGB keyboard and alien logo on the back of the laptop, also very customizable with the alien command centre! The laptop is a little heavy, but if you’re not taking it on the go, it’s perfect!

Great build quality, the bottom chassis and lid are both metal, while the palmrest is a good quality soft touch plastic. Like all Alienware laptops, the keyboard is about as good as it gets in terms of flat key laptop keys. The built in speakers with Dolby Atmos are incredible. I'm disappointed that I use a gaming headset to talk to people, because I'd love to just use the speakers all the time. It has an extra M.2 slot and comes with 2x8GB ram installed. This laptop only takes 5600mhz RAM. The screen quality is crisp and vibrant, it's not an OLED panel, but it definitely does the job, and it does it well. The Alienware software is surprisingly usable, but unfortunately bare bones. Gaming performance is great overall, I'm not worried about needing to check hardware requirements with this laptop.

It runs smooth and does not over heat. Loud fan noise though. The RGB lights are fun and nice to have. Get it if you can get a good deal. As with all Alienware laptops you can probably get another laptop for a better price but I got a pretty good deal on black friday so I'm happy with it.

Okay so first off absolute master performance in a laptop. This machine will take what you throw at it and keep pushing forward with out skipping a beat. Now a few things to know if your not familiar with a machine like this. Update all drivers it doesnt come pre updated. Graphics update is better from Nvidia but thats just me. The screen is beautiful. My only complaint is at ultra graphics u have to keep your battery cord plugged in it will even tell you that its not a big deal and it wont hurt the machine. The fans are very loud when its cooling its self but that doesnt bother me. Lastly get a cooling stand its imperative. It will help keep your machine cool dont skimp on it either if your spending this much on a machine get the cooling stand.

Let me preface this by saying that I had an Alienware laptop in 2016/2017 and tried one in November 2022. I didn't have any horrible experiences with the first laptop but the second one had a bad touchpad out of the box. *I would also like to mention that the first unit I had of this model had a defective pixel in the middle of the screen. I am typing this from my second unit, which has been perfect. Even though my first unit had a defective screen, it's nothing a quick trip to return and exchange it couldn't solve!* I have bounced around laptops trying to find one that scratches every itch. I'm working towards a degree in a part-time capacity, and haven't been able to land on a device that does it all. I originally had a Macbook Air M1 for the amazing battery life, but the performance for anything other than schoolwork left something to be desired. I then moved on to an Acer Predator 14" laptop that had the worst battery life of any device I'd ever seen. Even for a gaming laptop. It drained over two percent per minute even with registry tweaks to get the maximum battery savings possible. Can you imagine a 30-40 minute battery life while browsing the web? Thankfully, I was able to return that unit. I then decided that I would venture back into the Alienware realm with an X14. Super sleek profile, decent battery life, USB-C charging, RTX 3060? It would be the MacBook equivalent I was looking for. Sadly, as I said at the beginning, it was defective out of the box. I ventured into the undisputed king of gaming laptops when it comes to battery life; I found the Asus G14 (2022). About 10 hours of usable battery life and dedicated graphics? No way, right? The only thing that hurt it was that 2022 models only had AMD GPUs. Don't get me wrong, I think that AMD has come a long way, but the gaming performance, drivers, and UI of Radeon Software leaves a LOT to be desired. I ended up selling that unit to a friend. Then I had some ventures with non-gaming devices. A Dell XPS 13 Plus (also had defects) and a "studio-oriented" Asus Q540 with an RTX 3050. Once again, the Asus device gets everything almost perfect. It has a beautiful OLED panel, but it doesn't work for me outside of schoolwork. Sure, you can do light gaming on it but the 3050 isn't very capable and half the RAM is soldered. In comes this laptop. If you read all of that, thanks for sticking around. I didn't include all of that just to have filler. I included the information above to show that I have had quite the time finding the 'perfect' laptop. I've found it. This laptop has amazing build quality, great performance in AAA games, a high refresh rate G-SYNC panel with QHD+ resolution, replaceable RAM and storage, lighter weight than the previous generations, great typing feel, and a perfectly sized and "clicky" trackpad. The screen may not be the best on paper, but it is more than enough for gaming and general content consumption. Even when working with multiple virtual machines open, the battery life exceeds my expectations. I can work on this with 2 VMs open for 3-4 hours and still have about 50% battery life. Oh, not to mention Stealth Mode. It may not seem like a huge addition, but it is really nice being able to turn off the "gamer" mode and have a discreet laptop. I don't usually review products, but I have to give Dell credit. This laptop is every improvement I wanted to see in my Alienware laptop from 2017. If you are on the fence about buying this laptop, do it! TL;DR: Huge improvements over old Alienware laptops. Has great battery life for being a gaming device. Don't listen to "color gamut" testing online without seeing the panel in person. Absolutely worth it! Highly recommend!

Build quality : the build quality is very good the hinge , keyboard etc everything is top notch Screen : i would say 7/10 good but not very bright and it has okayish color gamut Game performance : gaming is good but be prepared for frame drops once it gets really hot, the thermals are well engineered but it has limitations of a laptop Overall : At 1300$ this was a solid buy, i wont spend more than that on a 4070 laptop. If you are looking for decent laptop with good game performance but can make compromises with screen go for it.
