It is a good laptop, to work and game but screen isnt the best, also came with white pixels i have been triying to fix it with dell, 2 replacements and i still have defective pixels, battery isnt that good either is good for a gaming laptop, but wont give you more than 3 hours of battery.

Build quality : the build quality is very good the hinge , keyboard etc everything is top notch
Screen : i would say 7/10 good but not very bright and it has okayish color gamut
Game performance : gaming is good but be prepared for frame drops once it gets really hot, the thermals are well engineered but it has limitations of a laptop
Overall : At 1300$ this was a solid buy, i wont spend more than that on a 4070 laptop. If you are looking for decent laptop with good game performance but can make compromises with screen go for it.

Powerful laptop. Zero Issues. If you are looking for a laptop that will easily play games in medium settings and do all of your other work that you need a computer for and want a light small package this is a good one.

It runs smooth and does not over heat. Loud fan noise though. The RGB lights are fun and nice to have. Get it if you can get a good deal. As with all Alienware laptops you can probably get another laptop for a better price but I got a pretty good deal on black friday so I'm happy with it.

If you want a “do it all” computer: school, work, light creative tasks, media consumption, and occasional gaming, this machine is more than capable. Good for hobbyists or those doing occasional creative work (like editing home videos, YouTube content, school projects), this PC offers a balance between rendering capability and affordability.

Ive had this laptop for about a month and Ive enjoyed it a ton. Its super customizable, especially with lighting and fan settings. It also runs games very well, handling games like Spider-Man 2 very well. Great laptop for portable gaming.

I've owned gaming laptops from HP and Asus and one thing you can't deny is: Alienware's build quality and finish is probably top notch compared to everyone else.
With that being said, I was about to get a pretty sweet deal on the 4070 M16 (got it for about $1230) and I gotta say I've been running Black Myth Wukong at a STABLE 85-105 in game FPS so I'm happy about that..
But you know what they say.. once you get a taste of power you seem to always want MORE lol

Excellent laptop! It perfectly meets my expectations: fast, lightweight, and with long battery life. The design is modern, and the materials feel premium. Ideal for work and study without performance issues. Additionally, the screen has vibrant colors, perfect for creative tasks. Great value for the price. Definitely a fantastic purchase!

Love this computer, as soon as I got it i upgraded to 64 gigs of ram. It's fast, runs through any processing on the adobe suite or simple queries as needed. The only thing that's a little annoying, when running VBA macro's it tens to freeze up a little. I don't think that would be an issue for most users, but it was rather surprising with the processing power and ram.

I recently picked up a gaming laptop during a sale and have been pleasantly surprised by its performance. It offers a good combination of power and speed, but the only downside is that it lacks memory. I believe it would greatly benefit from an upgrade to 32GB of RAM, but it's important to ensure that the new RAM is compatible with the system. One thing to keep in mind is that Alienware laptops can be quite finicky.

I was on a work trip and had to buy a Windows machine for Windows specific applications, and figured I could use it for gaming while on the road as well. I have mixed feelings about the machine.
On one hand, the built in keyboard is nice and the display is.. decent. I would hope given that Alienware is pushing their desktop monitors to be OLED, the same would be true here - it is not. There were multiple OLED displays in the store that looked significantly more striking than this one. I will say, the full size keyboard+arrow keys is nice - the keyboard feels satisfying to type on and use.
Gaming performance is decent for a laptop of it's size. Most games it can handle pretty well at native resolution, but for newer games that support DLSS4 it performs very well. The only downside here - this thing is LOUD. When the performance mode kicks in, you can pretty much hear it over everything else in the room. Very annoying.
The ports on the machine are great, but I would expect that for a machine of it's size. The RGB on the keyboard also looks very good, even though it's strangely.. not in sync. The keyboard and the trackpad have different settings and I have been unable to sync them up perfectly, one is faster than the other. If the machine cost about $400-500 less, it would be a much better buy.

Hey Malik, We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your review. We are sorry you are experiencing fan noise with your Alienware m16 R2 Gaming Laptop. Feedback like yours helps continue to grow and do better. We recommend using the TCC Offset Controller to control the thermal temperature of your system that can help reduce fan noise. We have provided the steps below and the link to the video that can help guide you thru the process. Using the TCC Offset Controller: 1. Controller is located in BIOS under CPU Management. 2. User can set TCC Offset value between 0 and 15 3. TCC Offset 0 = 100C Max CPU Temp 4. TCC Offset 15 = 85C Max CPU Temp 5. This feature, when available, impacts all USTT profiles. 6. This means that if the user were to change the value, it would be applied to Balanced, Cool, Quiet, and Performance Modes. 7. This feature, when available, impacts all USTT profiles. I saw a lot of recommendations for other brands but i have always been a fan of Alienware build qualities. I had some minor software issues with the Killer wifi but no other issues. I upgraded the ssd and ram and it runs exceptionally well for a midrange gpu and cpu.

Perfect device for what I wanted and honestly I'd say this is about the best option given the market (and the kind of useless 5000 RTX series), get this and you're SET.
Worst part is a consistent echoing from everyone else that the display for a 2024 device is so disappointing, you're not going to be fussed if you've never had an OLED or something fancy like that, we all live with LED screens everywhere 24/7, but man the competition for displays is ages ahead of Dell.
P.S. Make sure to register it on the site for the warranty!

Get the Asus G16 Instead
Specs are good, upgradable ram is nice... but the screen is a dealbreaker along with fan noise and weight. And build quality leaves alot to be desired.

Great Mid Tier Laptop

I use this laptop for both work and play. It’s a powerhouse for a mid tier laptop. Memory will need to be upgraded, 16 is not enough. But you can find a reliable set for $100 on Amazon. My only complaints on this laptop is the screen brightness and the thermals. Yes it’s a core ultra and yes it runs very hot, but I feel like the cooling is not sufficient. It runs around 105C under heavy load which I find worrisome (even though it’s rated for up to 110C. A good caveat about this laptop is it has WiFi 7 which in turn if you have a WiFi 7 router runs at speeds up to 1300mbs per second which is pretty quick. Lastly it has potential for storage upgradability which I admire from Alienware.

Well, Alienware wasn’t my first choice. I originally bought an Asus OLED 16” gaming laptop & it had little to no upgrade ability. The ram was 16gb & soldered to the motherboard.. So, I returned it & decided to go down the Alienware route. Sure, it doesn’t have an OLED display BUT! I got a lot more in return. I added a 2 TB SSD and upgraded the dual channel DDR5 ram to 32 GB! WORTH IT. laptop runs cool, it’s comfortable & has ran everything I’ve thrown at it. If I was to complain, for the price, it should have an OLED display or, a brighter and more colorful display.. Laptops are a constant trade off though. I rather have something more powerful than flashy.
