The screen quality is not very good. Even when brightness is at max it is not very bright. The contrast is pretty poor making it difficult to see in dark games. Like every other think Alienware I have tried over the last 3 years this thing runs HOT and I mean H O T! It will thermal throttle right when you don't need it to and you will get killed every time. The aesthetics are very nice, keybaord is great to type on. The motherboard is inverted making it a very in depth challenge to repaste with better thermal compund. You nee to be a serious enthusiast to want and make this machine decent. I am not sure Alienwares target is with this. If they want pure gamers they have crippled the machine with crazy heat and thermal throttling. If its enthusiast then they cut that market out with its VERY LIMITED upgrade-ability. I can not recommend this as your main and only gaming computer, you will hate gaming. But hey if you just want to look cool at Starbucks then this is the machine for you. As long as you don't stay longer than an hour or make sure you have your AC adapter and a outlet near by!

• To tune your system, go to Alienware Command Center and select out of 4 different thermal profiles that will help you manage system temperatures as well as performance output to your preference. These include Cool, Quiet, Balanced, and Performance thermal profiles.
• Our Alienware m17 follows 8th and 9th generation Intel performance design guidelines, which can lead CPU temperatures to reach 100°C to output top in-game performance.

The loading of games and programs are almost too quick. The only problem may be the RTX 2070 Super put the fan on high alert when pushing the GPU for some games. I really like the computer.

I am 6 days in with this laptop and so far so good! There has been no problems so far with this baby which is expected since this was bought as brand new. The rear power connector and the power supply seem to fail on these Alienwares. You tube has a video of two techs swapping out good parts and replacing them with broken ones. I can't tell you what language it's in but in five guesses you'll get it.

Alienware delivers with a solid quality build laptop that is hard to beat compared to other products.

I bought specifically for virtual reality (Rift S) however didn’t work properly on 2 of the 4 I bought, not sure why that was but since it’s fine on this one I’d definitely recommend.

I use it for some programming and game dev (Unity) and so far it has been able to handle everything I throw at it. Love the white color.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your charger is causing discomfort and apologize for the experience. Please keep in mind that as the AC adapter is capable of delivering of 240W in a such a compact form factor, if can become warm to the touch during charging. This is common and expected behavior. As for battery life, your system should last anywhere from four to eight hours depending on usage. Below are some suggestions to make the most of your battery.
1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
2. On the options list, click Power Options.
3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.
a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
c) Turn Battery Saver On or Off.
d) Additional settings available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver feature.
If your battery life is less than the expected runtime, it may be possible to repair or replace it. We recommend contacting Dell Support for further assistance in this case. They are available online, over the phone, or via email for your convenience.

Not happy the looks is the only thing it has worth anything not worth the money. It feels good n looks nice the sound is crappy too ! Ive never done a review but when u pay this much yeh time to do a review i was excited to get this laptop n excited to retuen it asap, tomorrow !

Had to update all the alienwear software before edit worked properly. But after update it has been perfect.

Fast machine frame rates have been up to 300 in warzone. Played console before and more then double my kill stats on this
