• To tune your system, go to Alienware Command Center and select out of 4 different thermal profiles that will help you manage system temperatures as well as performance output to your preference. These include Cool, Quiet, Balanced, and Performance thermal profiles.
• Our Alienware m17 follows 8th and 9th generation Intel performance design guidelines, which can lead CPU temperatures to reach 100°C to output top in-game performance.

I was really lost at first figuring out what to do. I had some friends try to help. I ended up using geek squad to get me started. Still have no idea what he did but it runs better. I was able to change the keys color that i use often so that is helpful. All and all like this laptop.

It runs blender like a champ and for the bit of gaming I do is in vr and it works amazing. I had a bunch of stupid issues from another company and decided to go with a reliable seller.

I bought this for my wife and she absolutely loves it! She podcasts with it and does regular internet surfing. It works wonderful! Would definitely recommend!

Even though it was an open box item, aside from a few smudges and some slight dust, it was in excellent condition. It is performing very well and he is very happy with it!

But the following are the issues I've had with this laptop, to the point of it becoming insufferable. 1. Constant visual glitches when watching videos. wmv, mpeg, mp4, Youtube vids... it doesn't matter. I get constant glitch effects showing on my screen, whether it's jumbled strings of random letters or numbers, random rectangular and square symbols showing up, and my screen flashing black and white. It gets very annoying. 2. The built-in, dynamic, automatic fan settings do not work half the time. The "Control Center" program that comes pre-installed on this laptop allows you to set a profile for each game you have installed, including fan speed. Different games make the PC run hotter than others: for example, I have noticed that Watch Dogs Legion makes the computer considerably hotter than Cyberpunk 2077. So I would set Watch Dogs Legion's fan speed to "maximum," while I set Cyberpunk's fan speed to "moderate." Well, half the time the fan speed does not adjust to the correct setting automatically, forcing me to do it manually. 3. The touch-pad intermittently stops working. It does not happen often, but when it happens, rebooting the computer is the only solution. 4. The crashes and lock-ups. Oh dear, Lord Almighty... the crashes and lock-ups! The computer CONSTANTLY crashes and locks up, forcing a reboot. This got to a point where this computer was pretty much unusable. At this point, I was done. Wasted no time in getting a refund. TL;DR: This computer is plagued with glitches and bugs. Stay away from it.

It was likely that the temperature tables of your system were out of date. We suggest updating your BIOS using the Alienware Update application that came pre-installed with your system. Likewise, if system thermals are of concern, you can prioritize cooling by opening the Alienware Command Center application that came pre-installed with your device and select the 'Cool' thermal profile.
