I am very pleased with this top-of-the-line gaming laptop from Alienware and have no major complaints. Well worth the money! The only surprise was the USB-C port, using a Display Port adapter, does not link directly into the graphics card, so you can't easily use an external G-sync monitor with this system.

Only 3 stars. If only hardware is your goal fantastic GPU/CPU @1600$. Missing some core features in my opinionthat even my cheap $500 gaming laptop came with... missing Full keyboard & The screen quality REALLY irks me. The pixel gap is horrible. Typing all you see are the lines between pixels. So while it's a 360hz screen it's very ugly and bothers my eyes. So for this alone I have to return it.

Seems like a great laptop other than shuting down randomly. Ive hap it about a month and its shut down while gaming over 40 times. May be returning it.

Great laptop if you want a desktop replacement. Dont expect to be to far from an outlet. 3070 ti is a tank

The M17 R5 with Ryzen 9 and RTX 3070Ti is an enthusiast machine. Made for gamers first and foremost, with everything else a laptop is supposed to do as an afterthought. That’s ok for this laptop, I think most consumers would prefer that prioritization. In a nutshell, this is a lightning-fast laptop that achieves its tasks as a gaming laptop extremely well. Display My laptop came equipped with the 360Hz 1080p display. It’s a bright, color accurate display that is a joy to game on. The fact the display is 1080p with an RTX 3070Ti means it can take full advantage of that 360Hz display. While some may call it overkill for 1080p gaming, I strongly prefer FPS over resolution, so this tickles my fancy. I have been quite impressed with the responsiveness, and smoothness while gaming. Being 17 inches, it provides a great amount of real estate when on the go gaming. Body/Chassis For years now Alienware has been making good feeling laptops. The material has a nice cold metal feel to it which exudes a premium feel. The color (Dark Side of the Moon) is a nice neutral color that shouldn’t steer people towards or away from the laptop. There’s a moderate amount of RGB that feels more like a nice touch rather than a blinding solar flare of rainbows. The keyboard feels better than your average laptop which is to be expected being a gaming laptop. My only real complaint of the body is the trackpad. If you have used a MacBook in the past 5 years, this trackpad is going to feel like a bit of a letdown. That goes for every single windows laptop on the market. The day any windows laptop maker decides to give Apple a run for their money on trackpads will be a good day. Now, anyone gaming will obviously bring a mouse with them and won’t care about the trackpad. However, if you plan to make this your daily driver for all your laptop related tasks you might be dissatisfied if your used to MacBook trackpads. Talking about making this your daily driver, be warned: This thing is a tank. It weighs about seven pounds and being 17 inches means it takes up real estate. Not impossible to bring with you everywhere, but it’s not a 14-inch thin laptop. Performance Any laptop with an AMD 9 and a 3070Ti is going to be a monster. This isn’t any different. Expect to game at high FPS even with every single setting maxed out to the moon. If video editing is your thing, this will do a great job as well. The 1Tb SSD provides a reasonable amount of storage at blazing speeds. The important thing about performance with gaming laptops that gets lost sometimes is the thermal management. The amount of heat these components produce is mind blowing, then to put it into a chassis the size of a laptop is an engineering migraine. That’s why when a company does a good job with thermal management, they need their applause. Alienware did a smart thing putting an AMD 9 inside this laptop instead of an Intel i9. The AMD 9 produces significantly less heat, while maintaining high levels of performance. Combine that with strong fans, good looking heatsink design and you get good thermals. They didn’t try to make this thing as thin as a Chromebook and that helps. Instead, Alienware kept their priorities in check and made a properly thick laptop that can provide the space needed for strong fans. Conclusion No laptop is perfect, that statement rings even more true with gaming laptops. However, every year it feels like we are inching closer and closer to a more complete laptop. The M17 R5 is a good evolution in Alienware’s goals. To provide a great gaming experience on the go. It doesn’t try to be something it’s not, and that’s good. The display is bright, responsive and allows high framerates. The body/chassis is strong with a premium feel and has a good keyboard. The performance is astronomical and borders on comical what they can achieve in laptops these days. Want God tier performance in a good shell? This is a good option. I strongly recommend the Alienware M17 R5.

Great stats fir price. Brought it home and its a peice if art, very heavy, but i have a tablet so its my gaming computer but i travel so much. The same day or next i returned it, the geek squad said somethung wS sodered right- i work in IT so knew it was a problem. Impressed by the Best Buy staff, very pleasant but intesd of replacing they sold me on a ROG ASUS, good, but not the same

BB back to school deal. Great price, quick pick up. Sturdy construction, Windows 11, gaming AMD Ryzen 9 laptop. Good selection of ports. Strong battery life. 17" Full HD screen. No CD drive, fan is a little loud but strong.

Tried for weeks to order this but the site wouldnt allow me. Then i get it shipped to me with no cables or accessories.

I found the price to be decent for what you get out of it, however for gaming the RAM and SSD space may need upgraded to suit all purposes

The software is buggy in my opinion. for this price, i believe they could have done a better job.

5 start laptop for price and quality. 1 start ded due to no one answers phone..called 20x due to lost wallet.

This is a great laptop for someone who has alot of video/virtual meetings. The video is crystal clear and sound is great. This laptop is definitely one of the smartest purchases that I have made.

AMD Ryzen Processor has a very good performance while keeping your machine cool. The keyboard lighting and the aesthetics of this Laptop is like no other so far no regrets I use it for work videos and Casual Gaming.

Response and rendering times for both video, and animation were spot on....also, with the room for a second ssd, and more memory....I made an excellent selection

Two years old and it won’t turn on anymore. Not sure why. Very heavy

Love and hate. The led lights are not working as advertised. The aliens and stadium on the back do not change colors.

An amazing product at a fantastic price. I always wanted an Alienware laptop and Best Buy made it easy and affordable. I upgraded the memory and added a second ssd and could not be more pleased.

I use this laptop for gaming and the graphics is amazing. I have no issues so far. The laptop is heavy and the rgb lighting is beautiful.
