He went in August with an Apple, and found out VERY quickly it was insufficient for his college needs. We were happy to help him out with this early Christmas gift and a full package of Office - which he needed from the get.

The designs, the “nerdy logo” and all the promises an Alienware pc offered was almost more than my 17 year old, original PlayStation owning mind could comprehend… then I saw the prices, and it was like a derrière probe… but Alienware was always a lofty dream of mine to own. For years I would watch CES coverage of the latest Alienware PCs then go to the store and buy the entry level integrated processor PC aimed at accountants or parents of elementary school kids. Finally started getting gaming PCs in the 2010’s and enjoying games I’ve only read about but never saw on the consoles. But those again were entry level PCs with cards that could play games at medium settings, and MAYBE the top AAA games on low. Finally, 26 years after seeing the first coverage of Alienware in PC gaming magazines, I FINALLY own an Alienware laptop, and I have to be 100% honest… it was worth every minute of wait. Everything about this laptop feels like the gamers’ version of a Jordans shoe or a Porsche Carrera. The premium feel and sporty performance exude a quality chemistry that just makes you want to game more, to challenge the system with a more demanding game. I’ve owned this for just under a week at the time of this review, but already have an extra 1TB SSD added and have loaded a few dozen games I’ve amassed from Steam, GOG, and Epic sales over the last decade… and I’ve yet to find a game it can’t play at a bare minimum of 60 fps at ultra settings. Everything runs buttery smooth and the system redirects the scorching heat away from you so you end up gaming for 4 hours instead of the planned 30 minutes of free time. Keyboard is bright and insanely responsive with a satisfying click. This also has a nice, sturdy weight to it so it doesn’t slide whenever you bump the desk or shift your weight. Overall, this is everything I’d hoped to experience. The Ryzen chip, nvidia 3070ti, and custom Alienware management software all blend seamlessly to just make gaming feel premium again, and not just the status quo. I’m enjoying looking at the differences between this laptop and my Xbox series X and PS5. Both consoles are amazing architecture and perform admirably for their price point, but this is like driving an Aston Martin Valhalla past your dad in his Tesla. This just feels good.

Got home and noticed issue instantly with alienware command center not displaying RX tab to be able to adjust keyboard lighting. Was told by Geek Squad it would cost me $180 to fix, when i recieved item defective. Highly upsetting!

Purchased the warranty plan through Best Buy as well. Best buy can’t or won’t replace with the same laptop, it would be a downgrade. Im certainly not sending a brand new pc for repairs. Got a lemon. Disappointed with overall product and Best Buy. They did refund our money but now all deals are gone. Xtremely frustrating and disappointing.

Sturdy windows laptop

Pricey but powerful

Fan is a little loud, but it's definitely needed. The price is high but I'll recommend this to anyone looking for a laptop that can handle big games.

Turns out it’s a total garbage. Horrible screen bleeding - I’ve never seen anything even close to that. Slow loading time. And when I was ready to return it, the WiFi card died. Didn’t even last a week… Wish I could give it 0 stars, it definitely doesn’t deserve even 1.

The Alienware I17 is powerfull enough to run multiple memory intensive programs at once that my old HP laptop couldnt even handle just having the programs installed.

Will eventually die on you permanently in the middle of the night and will never come back on because it fries the processor.

Crappy plastic casing. A waste of time and money. Best Biy didn’t help either. They gave me a dented dirty packing box that was open and not sealed. This is what paying $2000 to Best Buy gets you.

It was nice for a few months then it had severe problems with GPU, motherboard and then ram. I had to eventually switch my laptop entirely because school was starting up and I needed one.
