I love this computer! Lighting fast, and very cool looking, It runs anything I want, and has multiple ports that I can use to connect to other devices for presentations. It is heavy, but I don't care, because it is so much fun to use. Gaming and work combined with Ryzen 9 and an excellent graphics card. I highly recommend.

My son recommended this product for my needs. I use it for gaming and work. The only drawback for me is that it is quite heavy. If you aren't getting it to tote around for work, then it is an amazing system. It is fast and does all I need it to do.

Had for a couple years now and can say I use it everyday and no problems. For someone who moves around and doesn’t want to take a Xbox or full pc every where this makes life easier. Can play pretty intense graphic games and don’t lag at all and take it on every vacation.

Don't let the 4 star review sway you for it or against it. I'm convinced its a solid computer, but two cons mess with me. A minor con is that it has a software glitch out of the box that causes a stutter in graphics and audio. From my searches, it's fixed with deleting the Dell Support Assist, but I haven't yet. Because it's a software glitch that is known, I can forgive that, but it is annoying. My biggest gripe is that the charger is a straight pin in the back that comes out unknowingly. ROG has an angled pin on the side that makes it difficult to disloge and not notice. I wanted a ROG, but this was the only thing available to pick up on that day. I do love the computer, and I'm confident in its abilities, but this is a review. Dell has been in the bottom of my picks for a while, but it seems for the most part they've left the aquisition of Alienware alone and let it do it's thing.

As good as you can possibly get for a laptop. Runs decently well for me but I cant seem to figure out why it randomly lags. Not just in a game. 100% worth it if youre going for something portable with good specs

I usually dont deal with Alienware as they are generally overpriced Dell laptops with a fancy name. However I got this one at a good deal that was too good to pass on. First off the heat. The CPU of this thing runs HOT!! We are talking low 90s just watching Youtube. (high 80s when set to "balanced") I did managed to adjust the offset capping this at 85c and didnt get any noticeable performance hits. Secondly all the bloat on this thing. If you this or any other Dell laptop, uninstall SupportAssist the second you are able. Windows Defeder actually flags it as Spyware now (and it is, but it also bogs down lesser system) Alienware Command Center is ok, Better on the Intel models though. Ryzen Master makes up for what the AMD version lacks. Thirdly This paticulular one has a lot of light bleed on its display, It also does a slight flicker from time to time indicating this display wont last too long. Which is a bummer because its 1200p 480hz Gsync display is actually quite nice when playing games or watching birght and colorful movies. Overall thouugh, once you get passed the issues, this is an amazing gaming laptop, It runs any game I throw at it, Cyberpunk can run with everything maxed out with Path Tracing enabled, Provided you have DLSS Frame Generation turned on you will get a solid 70 fps in that game all day long. DLSS 3 is this laptops saving grace. Otherwise this 8gb 4070 mobile would be "meh" at best. Battery life is "meh" about to be expected from a laptoip of this size, If you are gaming heavy, you can hope to get about 80 minutes out of it. Watching videos or general computing, maybe about 3 and a half hours. But this is meant to be a desktop replacement that can be easily moved and also used on the road. This model came with the Mechanical keyboard with low porfile cherry switches, LOVE IT!! Wish all gaming laptops had a keyboard like this., Trackpad is acceptable, but if you are gaming, use a regular mouse. This also has LOTS of I/O on it, plenty of expansion ports to hook up all your external goodies. Webcam is fair. Speakers are decent and have a good amount of punch. However there are better laptops at this price point, MSRP on it is $2100 and seen on sale regularly for $1899. While the 18 inch screen is great, You can get a much better specced MSI or ASUS with a 4080 for the same price. I would ONLY recommend it if you can get it for a good price like I did. That is my two cents on this laptop, use it as you will :)

To help you with the heating issues that you are having, I have provided troubleshooting steps with the full article below that can resolve the issue.

Here are the steps to troubleshoot your heating issue:

      1. Update the system BIOS.
      2. Configure Alienware Command Center.
      • Open Alienware Command Center
      • Set the Active System Theme - Thermal as Performance Mode
      3. When the system boots up, using the preinstalled software Dell SupportAssist run the stress test.
      • Dell SupportAssist > Hardware Checkup > CPU > CPU stress test
      4. Launch the Alienware Command Center, go to Fusion, and monitor the CPU frequency.
      • The CPU peak temperature should be less than or equal to (≤) 100 ℃
      • When under high stress, the system average temperature can be expected to be less than (≤) 100 ℃
      • Note: The CPU average temperature can be expected to reach 95 ℃ under cool mode for the Alienware m15, m17, and x17 systems

I this thing was absolutely amazing for the first 2 weeks after I bought it! Unfortunately I tried to start it one Sunday and nothing.. instead of booting I got a diagnosis code. I’ve been working with Dell to find a solution, but the faulty motherboard is backordered. That was a week ago… I’ve only ever bought Alienware M series laptops, I’m hoping this isn’t a sign of things to come.. but like it said before it stopped working this thing was an absolute beast!
