First off, got a very good sale deal at 1899$ (now it’s up to 2600/2700$ again). You won’t look for anything else :) I always test the PCs I buy with forza to make sure nothing glitches and everything is nice to the eyes and yes this laptop passed high speed high res checks! It’s pretty hefty and the big 18in screen just sets the gaming mood, and the fan is not loud at all even when playing at high specs. I highly recommend this laptop!

Machine is great. Alienware Command Center is a problem, It had failed 4 time in 4 weeks and requires at least 2 -4 hours on the helpline to fix.

Absolutely love this laptop especially for gaming and because I have been traveling so much I upgraded from the m17 Alienware laptop with an i7 10th Gen processor to this Verizon 9 processor and there is definitely a difference in smoothness and transitions between the different games and I play fortnite Call of Duty war zone Destiny 2 OverWatch and Elder Scrolls Online and have not had any issues with this laptop

This particular laptop is OK. ( at first the one I purchased “blue screened” when I had purchased it to work while traveling . Luckily ( with one day to spare) I made it in time to exchange for another one. That one has been fine, not up tot he standards so expected out of a top of the line Alienware. A bit hot, the battery life is horrendous (I’m assuming it’s one of “those” laptops that aren’t meant to be a laptop. More of a mobile PC. In that sense it’s fine, but performance wise not so much. The graphics look good, the storage is oddly small for a computer capable of what it suggests, and it doesn’t seem to run from external hard drives as well as it could. But it does work, it is a mobile laptop and maybe I expected more with the reputation of Alienware.

      Hello BrianC,

We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your review. Your feedback is valuable to us at Dell. We are sorry to hear that your Alienware m18 Gaming Laptop is running warmer than you expected and your battery life does not meet your expectations. It's important for us to hear about inconsistencies in our products for consideration of future development. To help you with the heating issues that you are having, I have provided troubleshooting steps with the full article below that can resolve the issue and an additional link to help with the performance of your battery.

Here are the steps to troubleshoot your heating issue:

      1. Update the system BIOS.
      2. Configure Alienware Command Center.
      • Open Alienware Command Center
      • Set the Active System Theme - Thermal as Performance Mode
      3. When the system boots up, using the preinstalled software Dell SupportAssist run the stress test.
      • Dell SupportAssist > Hardware Checkup > CPU > CPU stress test
      4. Launch the Alienware Command Center, go to Fusion, and monitor the CPU frequency.
      • The CPU peak temperature should be less than or equal to (≤) 100 ℃
      • When under high stress, the system average temperature can be expected to be less than (≤) 100 ℃
      • Note: The CPU average temperature can be expected to reach 95 ℃ under cool mode for the Alienware m15, m17, and x17 systems

Had an m17 and loved it but it developed a hardware issue. Best Buy was awesome since we had TotalTech they refunded my entire purchase price almost a year later. Same day used the store credit to buy this m18 and IT IS SMOKIN’!! Runs everything smoothly at highest resolution. Kid will be a professional Valorant MDKer before I know it.

Tbh this laptop is phenomenal. I dont play hardcore games because COD and sports games are the same boring thing every single year. So the heaviest things i play are warframe and btd6. Ive never had a computer handle late game btd6 this well as it isnt really a game put on the gpu. But for a laptop especially it shreds the competition. Great price too

It was mainly purchased because of the sale and in comparison of other computers at full price. Overall, for the hype around Alienware and it being my first and probably last Alienware it’s okay. The screen when folding it up and down seems a bit flimsy. Also the screen itself is dull and not really vibrant. I expected a sharper image. The power cord fits extremely loose where it fell out on its own. I had to have the internal port replaced within the first 30 days and the issue remains with barely unplugging it. The replacement at first fit nice and snug but now it’s back to the same just as loose as before. The keyboard has a nice feel to it and color options are cool. The base is nice and sturdy so the flimsy screen is a bit disappointing. Boot speed is also a bit slower than expected.

I absolutely love this computer. I was looking for something with at least an i-7 processor with a 4060 (or better) processor. I had problems finding a model with 32GB of RAM or better until I stumbled into this model. The 18" screen is massive on a laptop. The responsiveness and overall speed of the machine is super impressive. I mostly play games with it. The only knock I could give it, is that it can be pretty heavy if you actually plan on carrying it everywhere with you.

Works great overall but the reason for the 3 starts is cause mine keeps acting like it's lagging out or being statically acting. I'm not sure why as my husband got same one and his is fine.

Very large and heavyduty laptop. I can have multiple programs open at once and it runs smoothly. The speed and efficiency in which it processes RAW photos and other artwork is astounding. Definitely an upgraded experience. Only tip is make sure you cut the laptop off or put it in sleep mode when not in use.
