My new Alienware gaming headset is absolutely incredible in every aspect of gaming and audio. With Alienware Headset control center I could set presets for all game genres and entertainment. When I hopped into a game on KF2 I immediately felt as if I was in actually in the game. Every single detail of audio was crisp and clear. I could immediately tell where the zombies were coming from and was able to react much quicker because of it. The headset gets loud enough to cover outside noise and immersive you into your game. I am absolutely loving this headset but you also must have Alienware Headset control center to take full advantage of all the audio and visual capabilities. You can customize the color scheme on your headset and adjust mic volumes as well as bass and voice frequencies. The headset is very comfortable to wear and the mic can be flipped up for mute and down for chat. This works on both PC and console! It worked great on my Dell and my PS4. The battery life is phenomenal at 15 hours and quickly charges if you need it. You can operate the headset wirelessly or with an included aux cable. Do yourself a favor and get this headset!!!!!! You will not be dissapointed! I will be buying one for my brother for his birthday coming up. Enjoy!

I have used several different brands over the years for gaming , and so far this is my favorite. The sound quality is awesome, everything sounds so clear and natural. This may not have the bass boost that some headsets have, but it does come with 3 different EQ settings for music, games, and movies. The audio is so clean you can hear everything in the game. The headset is also extremely comfortable. The ear pieces are large enough to go around your whole ear, and not squish the ear down. The materials feel very high quality. Overal the construction is great. Very comfortable, nice design. The usb receiver fits perfectly into a slot on the bottom, and is well hidden when not in use. Everything about this headsets shows that they were working for perfection, although I would have liked the volume dial, and chat/game mixer dial to be a lil bigger. It took me a few tries of actually taking the headset off, and looking, for my big fingers to find the setting buttons and dials. But this is a small sacrafice for such great quality. Even the included 3.5mm audio cable and charging cord are made from high quality materials. Overall - very satisfied, long battery life, great comfort, superior sound and construction

The Alienware AW988 is a mid-tier gaming headset with some top-tier features. Let's dig into the points. First, presentation. The AW988 comes in a slick package and lends itself to a pleasing unboxing experience. From the start, you get the feel that you're dealing with something premium. The hexagonal like headphones look pretty cool, with cups that completely enclose your ears. Due to the shape, the headphones can be placed standing on their own on a flat surface. The headphone cups also rotate so you can wear it around your neck and not have the headphones choking you. This is a subtle design feature that makes products feel a lot more well thought out. Sound points were earned with a few caveats. Sound response is decent (middle of the line) and customizable profiles are available. There's also a virtual surround sound feature which can be nice but can also be a bit gimmicky. Yes, there are certain compositions where the virtual 7.1 surround sound actually feels immersive. However, for most things (music, movies, and games), one doesn't get much over stereo and sometimes, you lose some audio clarity. The microphone is a fold out boom type microphone that's noise cancelling. It's pretty nice that it essentially can disappear when not in use. Noise cancelling works decently well. There's a 3.5mm cable that can be used with the headset in addition to a 2.5Ghz usb dongle. The headset actually has storage for th dongle which itself is pretty small, so you're not going to lose it while heading out to a gaming convention. The audio cable is a convenient alternative, but one loses the ability to use audio prsets if you use it. The software needs a digital connection to the headset to make this work. Software points were judged based on usability and configuration. You get an alienware themed configurator with multimedia and gaming presets. It was pretty intuitive to use with sliders to adjust different parameters and prominent reset button to clear things out and restart. You can also hover over settings for a tooltip with more information. For the lights on the headset, you get two controllable zones, the alienware logo and lights below it. You can customize the color using a typical RGB color picker (or just type a color name) and what they do - like pulsing, "breathing" and a few others. There's also some timing settings for this. A bit surprising to me, maybe I don't game hard enough, is how much the design of the AE988 is geared towards dealing with moisture and sweat. The earcups are padded with a moisture wicking material. It's also soft mesh, combining form with function. The headband however is not the same. While a nice size and quite adjustable, it will just absorb or bead sweat. So, use it for an intense brow sweat inducing gaming session, but stay away from a treadmill. Aside from the sound configuration, one can also configure lighting using the supplied software. This is kind of cool and I can see the appeal. This would certainly have been a wish-list feature a decade or so ago. Now, I'm not so sure. It was cool to play around for a couple days, then this became boring and not used. The battery life scores major points. From a full charge over the course of a couple days, I logged twelve hours of use with some battery remaining. That said, in the process of determining this, it loses points as well. While the headset is initially comfortable, it can get a bit painful over long periods. This has been an issue I've had with a wide variety of headsets and earphones (over ears and in-ears) so I think it may have more to do with my bone structure than the design. That said, I've noticed I tend to have the same issues with products from a given company so if you have experienced this kind of discomfort in the past, that can guide your choice. Overall, I think this is a decent gaming headset. It's got cool features and hits all the standard must-haves. I'm a lot more of a casual gamer so would normally only wear this for a couple hours once or twice a week. That works for my comfort level. If you're more serious, I would strongly suggest making sure you conduct a trial whose duration matches one of your longer sessions to get a good idea of the fit.

I haven't used many types of headsets for gaming, but I have used brands like Turtle Beach and Platronics. I also have a big head, so finding headphones that fit comfortably can be a bit difficult since I like over the ear ones. Aside from being awesomely comfortable, the great quality, and the RGB settings (I like things to look nice), the sound on this is AMAZING. I am usually skeptical about wireless things for PC gaming for fear of lag of any kind. However, lag is non-existent with these. As a bonus, these don't become uncomfortable the longer you wear them, so I'm good with them for a few hours at time, though I am a casual gamer. Overall, I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking to go wireless for headsets!

I think this is very good headset. Fancy design and great sound quality is how would I describe this item. Quality of the sound is one of the best I ever tried, and I had no problems while connecting this headset to my son's gaming Dell desktop or to my Lenovo laptop. Design is rocking, not that they just look good but they are also feel very comfortable on your head. After you download and install the software you can change the colors of the lights (logo) which is another great thing about design. Even packaging box has good style. Once again, great headset with rich sound quality which I would gladly recommend to anyone Pros: Design Sound quality Can be used as both, wired or wireless Cons: None for me

Pros: 7.1 Virtual Surround Earmuffs are comfortable Mic is clear Battery life Cons: Headband is squishy and headset slides down over time Alienware Headset Center can cause erratic issues For the most part this is a good headset. It feels sturdy and the earmuffs are roomy and comfortable to wear for a long session. They also flip sideways. The one issue I had with comfort is the headband. It’s very soft and squishy rubber so it doesn’t have enough support. Once the headset is on, it will slide down and you can feel the band pressing on your head. On the left, all the buttons are easy to access and gives you control over the mix between in game and chat audio, mute, volume, and cycle through the equalizer settings. The power button is integrated into the logo. The mic folds up and mutes itself. On the right is a slot to hold the USB receiver. The sound is very good to me. The virtual surround is handled by the Alienware Headset Center app, which if you’re using an Alienware PC will be automatically installed, otherwise you’ll need to download it. The virtual surround does a good job simulating a 7.1 system. In open world games you can really tell the direction of conversations and background noise. There’s a minor jump when sound direction is traveling from the back right to left, and sounds coming from directly behind is a bit weak, which seems to be the case with most virtual surround setups. Overall I think the audio is really good for gaming. It may not have the booming bass for movies and music, but it still does a good enough job for those. The app allows you to adjust the each of the sound profiles for FPS, strategy, music, movies, etc. You can adjust the bass and treble levels, turn on/off virtual surround and reverb, and adjust smart volume if it’s enabled. You can also adjust the RGB and mic settings. The app does seem to cause some issues. If you’re using the headset as the primary playback device, and you don’t switch back to speakers, then it’s fine. The issues is when you’re switching back to speakers, or when the app auto starts (which there is no in app option to disable) and it doesn’t detect the headset. I have instances of the game crashing, or loud audio issues or pops in my speakers. I’ve never had these issues before the app was installed. The battery life seems good. You won’t get the advertised 14 hours, but probably around 10-12 hours. I game for about 2 hours and then left it running for another 3 hours playing music and it was still at 70%. I think this is a pretty good gaming headset so far. The most annoying thing for me (and I have a wide head) is that it either slides down and press on my head a bit or I have to tighten them up more and it squeezes my sides. It’s not painful, just a bit annoying. Maybe once they're broken in it'll feel better.

It doesn't get much better then this. Despite it's size, it is lightweight on the head... easy to wear for LENGTHY period of time. Deep rich sound, not cheesy tin like sound. Long battery life. Comes with all the cables needed to charge, and hook to a mobile device. For Windows 10... this took less then 30 seconds to setup. (took more time to get out of the box). Plug in the USB receiver, and honestly turn it on and you are done. high quality material and design. The cushions on the ear encompass your entire ear, but are really soft.

Perfect for long sessions, a fantastic battery life, and the customizible rbg lights are a great touch to the ergonomic design the headset has. The microphone is clear and there's no popping sounds when I speak. I can walk all around my room with comfort with the microphone on. They're comfortable on the ears and very suitable for a petite size girl who has issues with most gaming headsets being too large for my ears. They're quite good at cancelling noise. The overall sound is nice as well.

The Alienware wireless/wired stereo gaming headset comes in a very high end box which adds to the anticipation of the high end product inside. The headset certainly feels high end when you put it on. It is big compared to most wireless stereo headsets, but not compared to other gaming headsets. I found the headset to be very comfortable and easy to adjust. The sports mesh ear cushions kept my ears form getting too warm when wearing it for a long time. While I understand that this headset’s primary purpose is gaming, which is why it is 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, I found that the lack of Bluetooth connectivity when I want to connect it to my phone to hear music is a major oversight for something so easy and inexpensive to include. Connecting via a 3.5mm is a decade old technology and a problem if you have a newer iPhone without a 3.5mm headphone jack. The headset lighting to me felt very gimmicky and totally unnecessary. When in use, it seriously impacts battery life. Thankfully, that feature can be shut off. As for the sound, I found that for gaming, the sound was sharp and clear. It really felt like I was inside the game, if that makes sense. No lag, buzz or noise was detected. Where I felt this headset fell short was playing music. I played several genres from Classical, Heavy Metal, pop and Jazz. While the sound was still clear and sharp, it lacked adequate bass. The sound felt shallow and weak at times. Watching a movie through these also felt a bit weak comparted to other stereo headsets I have used. Overall, this is a solid choice for gaming and occasional music listening or movie watching. If you are looking for an all-purpose headset, this is a decent choice. It does gaming very well and music/movies well enough.

I have been using this for my PC and PS4 and I have to say it is the best of both worlds. It is extremely comfortable and can be worn for many hours without discomfort and only get a tad warm. The battery life is great so far and it is very nice that it works for both PC and PS4 with no wires. The flip up boom to mute is great, and the RBG lighting is the icing on the cake! Buy these!

This headset provides crystal clear, stereo sound. That’s the first thing you notice. Theater quality sound effects that you carry around with you is how I describe this product. It comes with a high quality braided cord and Bluetooth receiver for a PC. Tested the receiver on a gaming laptop PC (both USB ports) with no issues. You get a better, more reliable connection, using a receiver vs. built in Bluetooth on a PC IMHO. Note once the receiver is plugged into your PC, the internal speakers of the PC can’t be heard. So after you are through using the headset, be sure to remove the receiver, if you want to use your PC’s internal speakers. Cord worked on two PC’s and a Pixel phone. Battery life is rated for fourteen hours. Charged up fast out of the box, so assumed it shipped with almost a full charge. No way to store the receiver so hope I don’t lose it. Gaming gear has a reputation for high performance and this product does not disappoint. Highly recommend it for a gaming enthusiast.

I have used many different gaming headsets but this is one of the few wireless ones and the only Alienware one. It is a great headset overall. Starting off with the design, it does not feel cheap at all. It is made out of high quality materials and feels solid. Due to the fact that it is a wireless headset, it is heavier than wired ones alike but it is not too heavy that it hurts your head. Being an Alienware gaming accessory it has color changing lights on the outside of the headset which are ascetically pleasing. As far as connectivity they offer a wired connection along with a wireless connection. The wireless connection is via USB and i was impressed that it even worked on the latest gaming consoles not just PC. This makes it a great choice for anyone who games on multiple platforms. The sound quality is amazing and their are no complaints. These headphones make you feel like you are actually in the game and in some instances can help you determine where enemies are at in first person shooters. I would highly recommend these to anyone who is a serious gamer. PC users will have the most customization but these can easily be used on other gaming consoles.
