(Black Friday Purchase @ $1299+Tax) A solid laptop, but constrained by its thermals and required far too much bug fixing to get it into an acceptable shape. When I bought the laptop, the fans were running constantly on idle. I let Windows and Dell SupportAssist perform updates to try and resolve this. Windows updates were done first and subsequently prevented SupportAssist from completing its job. The major patch needed was a bios update to supposedly prevent the fan from aggressively spinning up. I had to use a USB drive to flash the bios, but that failed to address my fan issues. I then had to go through a convoluted uninstall to get Alienware Command Center to work properly. You would think that uninstalling the app would be enough, but you actually need to go into hidden folders to delete things manually. After all of this, the laptop was finally in solid form. Fans didn't run rampant on idle (Alienware Command Center Profile set to Quiet) and the system was responsive/quick. Game performance is great (on balanced profile) and it rips through productivity tasks. The major issue then, is that the laptop fans would still ramp up (even on quiet mode) to audible levels when doing anything other than simple web browsing. Zoom meetings in particular get the fan going, which is unfortunate (never mind the sub-par camera). I don't mind fan noise when gaming, but on simple work related tasks it shouldn't ever ramp up. On top of this, the battery life is terrible. There's no skimping around it, I've never been able to achieve the claimed 8 hours on web browsing. More realistically, you can expect somewhere around 4-5. Quite frankly, this is embarrassing when compared to MacOS laptops, and Windows Sleep does not help things as its horribly bugged and actively drains laptop battery in most cases. Now, if you plan on keeping this laptop plugged in and mainly play games, I think its an amazing machine for that purpose. Really, its a 5 star machine if your only goal is gaming. The fan will get loud, but most folks play with headphones so fan noise is a non issue. For people who are looking at productivity or office/school work with gaming mixed in, I don't think I can recommend it as there are better options.

I bought this Alienware laptop to have a relatively cheap laptop that can handle both gaming and schoolwork. I got exactly what I paid for! It runs the games I like to play without any issues. I do recommend getting a mouse to go with it, as the trackpad feels a bit klunky. The battery life also runs out fast when running games, but that is par for the course with gaming laptops. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Very portable. Clean display. Runs any game and program I’ve tried. Hard to clean dust under screen

The Alienware x14 delivers maximum performance in a small package. It is slick and looks great. They managed to fit a 3060 in such a small computer, it's awesome. Video editing is a breeze! The only downside is the extremely short battery life. I got it to give me around 3 or 4 hours before it died completely.

This is a great little laptop that performed pretty well for most games. We wanted to play Fortnite and we were able to get low 100s fps. The main issue was that with streaming it went below 100 and we decided that a bit stronger laptop would be a better fit so we are looking for something with a stronger cpu/gpu combo.

This is an excellent gaming laptop if portability is a top priority to you. Id gotten it on sale for $1299 and was overall impressed. It feels very solidly built, screen looks great, and its a very sleek and good looking piece of equipment. I have a Spectre x360 which serves as my ultraportable laptop so the alienware seemed redundant. You have to sacrifice power to accomodate such a compact build, and in my case i realized i valued power over portability. Aside from personal preference my only gripes are: 1. 3060 is under powered, but as i mentioned thats a sacrifice made for the size. I also never liked the 3060’s limited VRAM, it feels like a setup to be funcrionally obsolete sooner than later 2. MSRP is way high, the sale price was reasonable 3. Alienware software isnt very good.

Amazing thin & light laptop! I love it. One thing that surprised me was how bright and colorful the screen is. It gets to at least 500 nits of brightness which is more than a lot of the competitors that only go up to 300 nits. I thought I would be missing out without a QHD display but I am more than satisfied with this.

I bought an X14 for working with 3D models and playing sometimes. I use it connected to a large screen. Not as noisy that I thought before but strong enough to manage my job. It eats the battery quickly but power has the price.

Very smooth laptop to use. The speed at which I can get things done is highly impressive. Only minor concern I have is the right shift button and the arrow keys are not aligned and also the volume keys are to the far right. This is different to any regular laptop. Its a minor issue but manageable.

Excellent machine for the sale price. Display is top notch, bright wish great color and overall feel of the machine is high quality. I do wish it had more than one USB type-A port and that the chassis had some more room in front of the keyboard, but you get used to the shape after a bit of use.

I am impressed with this little work horse! It is capable of running more then I expected. I needed a pc that could run some pretty demanding programs and to link my meta wuest to. I have had this baby running for almost 24 hours at a time and just keeps on going. I am very happy with it!

Pros: Slick design with customizable lighting. Powerful Intel Haswell processor. Great audio quality. Great Build felt like Mac Cons: Relatively dim display. Tends to run hot under pressure while gaming.

Very happy with this purchase !! Good condition and did not have to break an arm and leg to get it. Plays all games extremely well and all other jobs… best part is it is not a big heavy laptop it is super slim and lighter than any other gaming laptop

Absolutely love this laptop. All my games work amazingly. It does tend to get pretty hot like most laptops do so I did have to buy another fan to help cool it off but don’t regret it at all.

Great pick, punches above its weight class and a good deal now that the price has dropped. A bit of a retrograde UI and loud fan noise, but very thin and a great look.

Definitely wait for a sale. Mine was an open box/ excellent condition. You can get more for your money as you are paying for Alienware. I needed a small laptop and thought why not. No issues with anything. Was pretty much brand new.
