Customers regard the x15 R2 gaming laptop's performance and graphics capabilities very favorably, with many praising its power and visual quality. However, some users experienced issues with overheating, battery life, and occasional keyboard problems. The laptop's noise level during operation was also a point of concern for a few customers. I am extremely satisfied with my Alienware X15. The computer itself is solid, and although I encountered a few software issues, Dell’s support team was incredible. Their customer service is the main reason I will continue to use Dell products—they’re available 24/7, and they can log in remotely to resolve any issues swiftly. While I would have preferred that the device came with the Pro version of Windows (which required a paid upgrade), the overall experience and the outstanding support have made this purchase worthwhile.

I bought the laptop in excellent condition but the keyboard came defective, working sometimes and sometimes not, so I thought it could be some update that was missing. I updated everything that was possible but it was not solved, so I had to return it. And finally, there was no mark in the description, but there was a scratch

Sure you pay a premium, but you get what you pay for. This gaming laptop offers sleek looks and top-notch performance. It is also lite and thin compared to others in its category. Buy with confidence. You will not be disappointed!

Best Gaming Laptop You Can Get

I was looking for the perfect gaming laptop for a really long time, I was looking everywhere and did lots of research and my computer tech friend told me that if I wanted the best gaming experience that I needed to get at least a 3070ti, and at least 32 gigs of ram. So I went with this Alienware. I have been so satisfied with it, and can play any game that I desire now. It never overheats, and I also bought a cooling fan underneath just to keep it extra cold for extra ease of mind. I also recommend buying a nice case for it. You will not be disappointed. If you are on the fence about getting a really good gaming laptop, but don’t know if the money is worth it. It’s worth it. Drop the dough and get quality gaming. Best purchase of my life.

Love this machine. No issues. I always leave it plugged in, but when I do go mobile with it, it lasts long enough for my needs.

Beautifully made laptop that can tackle anything you throw at it. It tends to heat up a bit, but as long as you have a cooling pad or fan under it should be just fine.

Power adapter killed 3k computer

I purchased this gaming laptop at a premium, expecting premium quality. The computer failed after 2 years of light use. The source of the failure is the faulty power adapter. The computer is plugged into a surge protector and there was no irregularities with the weather or my electricity. Something inside the adapter caught fire, smoked, or expoded. The adapter smells like smoke. My breaker tripped and now my laptop will not turn on. I will amend this review if Dell or best buy does what is right and replace my damaged computer. This computer had no spills and no viruses. It was strictly used for gaming.

Would have gone 4.5 if it was possible. More on that after I cover the positives. It is amazingly solidly built and an absolute beast when it comes to performance. Easily handles anything thrown at it - games at the max settings, 3d modeling apps, photo and video editing, software development, etc. It also has the super cool alienware look - very attractive.
As for why I would give it a 4.5 star is mainly because of the lack of USB ports and also extreme difficulty in accessing/using them. They are all located at the back of the laptop and are not lit up or marked so you can't see when you are needing to plug cables into them. There are also a limited # of ports. I would have liked to see some ports on the side of the computer and would have appreciated some markings to somehow be able to tell what your plugging into. In this day and age with a million different USB standards it is all the more important to make this easier on the user. Another negative is the fan but it's not a major one. Yes it's loud but I expect that and don't mind as I need the power and these machines need the cooling. The issue I have is that at a certain RPM level, the fans give off an irritating "whistle". I've learned to live with these issues as I was able to purchase an open-box unit at almost 50% discount which to me is a steal. If I had purchased it at full MSRP I'd consider returning it. My research showed me that others have encountered the same issues with the fans.

The use of this laptop is essential in completing my interior design degree, the battery life could be better, it tends to overheat a bit, being a gaming laptop it gets a little noisy. Overall though in terms of speed it runs multiple apps very well.

This is a very good computer. That’s pretty much sums it up. You get very good specs all around and a normal person will probably never run out of storage. One thing to note is that all of the ports besides the headphone jack are on the back of the computer and it can get kind of warm. It’s kinda weird because you have to put down the screen or turn it around to actually see where the ports are. If I have any complaints about the laptop as a whole it’s that the only light you can’t change the color of is the power button and it would be cool if that was an option. The other complaint is that although the laptop is 15 inches, the back sticks out to make the size bigger so if you get a case make sure to try a 17 inch one. I’m not sure if that will fit but it’s worth a shot if that’s a necessity.
So in summary: good performance at a decent price, total size is bigger than the screen size, all ports are in the back

I had enough of my MSI GE66 rtx 3070 laptop having issues with the audio drivers constantly lowering the volume, seen this thing on sale for $500 off so I decided to give an Alienware machine a try. Usually I find them to be very overpriced machines as you can get the same specs way cheaper elsewere.
First off, I'm quite impressed that it doesn't come pre installed with a bunch of crap I'd never use like Dell machines often do. It comes with Alienware software to manage and control things such as lighting and all that, the usual Microsoft Office 365 trial, and a few apps like Instagram and TikTok, but no other crap like Norton, a video editing trial, and media software.
I was offered a 1 month trail of Gamepass Ultimate from Microsoft, so I went ahead and claimed it and first tried out some Gamepass games. I can play Forzo Horizon 5 on exteme settings with no issues. I get 60 - 90 frames a second, even with raytracing set to max. My old GE66 couldn't do that, I really didn't expect the laptop RTX 3070Ti to be that much more impressive than the Laptop RTX 3070.
Next up I decided to do a few flights in Flight Simulator. Set to ultra I was getting 30 - 50 frames per second, depending on where I was flying and if I'm in cockpit view or outside view. I tend to get better frames in cockpit view, but still ran great even in highly dense areas such as New York City or Manila. Turn the raytracing down a bit and lower the trees/grass textures you normally wouldn't look at unless you're on the ground for a smoother experience.
Resident Evil 8, Tomb Raider, God of War all run great at max settings as well. Also keep in mind that this laptop has a 1080p screen on it. I haven't tested it yet, but do expect slower performance if you connect to an external 4K monitor or TV.
Overall, this is a great gaming machine and I'm satisfied.
Now let's move on to some issues when it comes to pther tasks such as content creation. Since this laptop only has 1 single USB-A port, which most devices, especially creation devices use. It's difficult to connect multiple USB devices to it. I own a FLKey37 Midi keyboard and some USB effect controllers, along with a Mic. Since I cannot find a bluetooth silent mouse anwhere, my wireless mouse also requires a USB port to use. Then a Wacom tablet, gaming controller and external hard drive. I've always gotten by with 3 USB ports, but having just 1 is a challenge. There is a USB-C and a Thunderbolt port, so a USB hub is an option, but I seem to have issues powering multiple USB devices through it at once. I'm not sure it's the USB hub or the laptop, but a low of power is bring drawn from a single USB-C port since none of the devices have an external power supply.
No ethernet port, but a USB-C ethernet adapter is included in the box, which is nice.
I do love that all the ports are in the back, even the HDMI.
I feel like the cost of the laptop can be lowered by removing the back light and Alien head light on the lid. Very unnecessary to have them. I'd much rather save $150 and not have to pay for those lights I'll never look at since they are in the back of the laptop.
A few more things. The keyboard is great, one fo the best laptop keyboards I've used. You can change the color of the backlight on each individual key, and even set profiles for different games/apps. Laptop does get hot and loud, but the cooling seems to keep overheating under control. It does have a second M.2 slot, and it's easy to get into to add a second SSD. However, RAM is built into the motherboard, so upgrading that or adding more isn't an option.
Overall, great machine, just not enough USB-A ports and overpriced as you can get the same exact specs cheaper and have more USB ports.
If this laptop wasn't on sale, I wouldn't have gotten it, and even after using it, I only recommend getting one if it ever goes on sale again for at least $500 off.

So far, it’s pretty great. It’s not perfect, but it’s great.
It’s fast, it’s light, and it’s still quite impressive in terms of what’s available in terms of graphics. The only problem I’ve dealt with so far is overheating.
The fans run constantly whenever I’m doing anything graphically intensive and it gets really warm. At least the fans are pretty quiet?
Regardless, it’s a massive upgrade from my 7-year-old XPS.

This thing is a beast

This is my first Alienware laptop and by far the most powerful gaming laptop I have owned, and this thing is a beast! My previous laptop was a gaming laptop that was aging, and was apparently severely overworked running an intensive program for school (computer design class). The typical time taken to compile the timing report was around 3-5 minutes for the old laptop, with this thing it was around 20-30 seconds. When comparing side-by-side to other classmates high--end laptops, compiling the same program was taking at least 10-15 seconds less for this laptop. The overclock feature and complete control, or automated control to your choice of settings, of cooling and the processor overclocking was amazing and setup great to be usable for both newbies and the savvy users. The only issue I ran into was a Windows issue that required a OS reload, make sure if you do this you use the Alienware software to perform as I initially lost important features when just using Windows OS restore. Otherwise, this beast has been perfect! I have not had an opportunity to use for gaming yet.

It’s okay. Loud. loud fans. Plays overwatch and Fortnite and hugely loud compared to a Nintendo switch which plays the same games at a quiet volume. Not ideal for travel or work laptop. I think I’ll give this to my high school brother. It’s a pretty laptop. I finessed it for $1500, and it’s a $3000 value. Shop open box if you can. If I open a Best Buy competitor , buy from me instead, because I’ll care about the product and you, instead of treating you like another sale. Big respect to the gentleman who sold me this laptop, because he knew what he was talking about.
I have a lot to say, but money and where you shop is personal, so our opinions may not be the same. Best of luck to all Best Buy employees, I hope God blesses you will dreams and happiness, like God’s blessed me.
