A friend at work picked up a smaller Altec speaker and it blew me away with the quality. Stopped in at Best Buy East in Madison and found this speaker. It even beat the price of a similar Altec speaker at Walmart.

It has a great sound when only one or two instraments are playing, it will play loud with out disstortion and good base. But, as soon as I played my old rock music, I went uh !

The U attachment unscrew often and once I had to make an exchange because it became stripped and the fitting came out with it. I recommend the geek squad on it.

The app for the speaker does not work (iOS) and the battery life is a joke. It advertises 50hrs and you're lucky to get maybe 8 (bluetooth playback and the speaker on it's own power). When calling Altec customer support the representative was incredibly rude and condescending. They are allegedly sending information for a replacement process. Note: the speaker has been used maybe 5 times due to the lack of battery life, and the item was purchased 2 months ago and had issue at first use.
