The speaker is being used for every type of music. The sound quality on lower-mid range volume is incredibly good for this price range and rivals an expensive speaker. The sound quality from mid-louder volume is tinny. If you only want to listen to music at lower levels you will enjoy a fully balanced sound, even heavier bass music. If you want to cut your music up for a favorite song or want to play louder music through the speaker to cover up beach noise or public sounds, you will be disappointed.

This unit has good sound and works great on my porch with the source inside. I have used it with my phone at other outside locations with the same results.

Excellent speakers perfect when hiking, kayaking, or anywhere outside like eating al fresco on the patio of your apartment.

I got one for work and I've dropped it about 50 times since I purchased it and it still works great. Could use a bit more volume but I guess I should've bought the bigger one. Great for what I paid for though.

My Wife loves to listen to the music on her IPhone only one in the family and she has taken to the ALTEC Lansing speakers which stared with one of the smallest and Black Friday other buy. Well she has killed or worn out several speakers and this one replace one just like it. She needs two because when one loses power she want her music to continue. This one is actually two up from the one that died and one up from the other one she has. Her only complaint is the lowest and second to lowest volume levels are way too far apart.
