Don’t waste your money , get a jbl or Bose Alter has lost there quality as a great speaker.

I had to take this item back and swap twice. Will never buy Altec again. Got a Sony and very happy now

This is a $300 dud... you think it would have better sound for the price...

Bought this a few weeks before a strenous military excercise. Tried it at a pool and was satisfied. Brought it with me for 3 weeks of training. Drove in military vehicles listening to music over the road noise for 18 hours a day, still charged my phone on the way. Compared to the speakers that others brought this was way better. It sustained my electronics as well as a rough excercise being dropped and thrown with my equipment. I'd recommend.

I paid over $250 for this speaker and when i bought it, straight out of the box one of the tweeters had a slight crackle but you couldnt hear it from farther away so it didnt bother me to much. Now it turns on and it wont let out any sound at all. I chraged it for several hours and when i turn it on the lady isnt welcoming me to altec lansing anymore. It was good for battery life and everything else just doesn't make sound anymore.

Not only is this overpriced, it does not work. I bought one of these speakers and it broke on the first use. Returned it to BB and got a replacement, that speaker also stopped producing sound within 2 weeks. Got my third speaker and it worked for a couple of weeks. I went to use it after a few weeks of non use and go figure the speaker would no longer produce sound. Called Altec and it sounded like their office is run out of a garage. I could no longer find my receipt for this junk speaker so they told me that they cant help me. I would never suggest anybody buy this. This speaker is totally flawed and they know it but wont fix it. Stay away from this.

Dont waste your money on this. Day 1 the bluetooth connection started dropping. After 3 weeks, it stopped connecting alltogether to every single thing via bluetooth. The distortion was unbearable after one month. Add to that, when the power button is turned on or off, a VERY loud voice comes on saying 'Welcome to altec lansing!". Regardless of how low I turn the volume, the next time the power button is pushed, that voice will come on. I exchanged mine, and got the megaboom 3 on sale (its waterproof & the sound is great) That's an excellent speaker for about the same price when its on sale.

About a month after purchase and only using it about 5 times, we have no sound on the speaker. Have tried several different bluetooth compatible devices and all show they are connecting to the speaker. Have also connected via cord into speaker jack and still nothing. My husband is ready to simply throw it away and never purchase Altec again. We have purchase the smaller Altec speakers for all the kids and have been happy with them. But the amoung of money spent on this speaker for it to not work is frustrating to say the least. I have read on online that several other people are having or have had the same issue with this partial speaker.

I have purchased 2 of these speakers over the last year and a half. The first one went out in about 6 months and needed to be replaced. Have had the second one now for about 9 months and now it has gone out. Not playing loud music just a little background music in the back yard from time to time. First one just stopped playing sound all together. Second one now doesn't do anything but play loud static. I am so disappointed with this speakers especially for how expensive they are.

Defective series, completely DIED on me after one week. Doesn't turn back on after charging overnight. Also tried the boomjacket jolt, horrible bluetooth connection no more than 10 feet. The Superlifejacket has major problems and should be recalled.

What a piece of garbage! It stopped working within 24 hrs of purchase and had to send it back to Altec for service. It's been almost 30days with no communication from Alted. After calling them and speaking with a cust service rep who I could barely understand, no one can tell me when I can expect a replacement! I have a LifeJacket XL which I have been happy with, but after this experience I will NEVER purchase another Altec product! This is apparently NOT an unknown issue and Altec released the product anyway.
