I have yet to test its seaworthiness but sound quality is EXCELLENT (coming from someone who's VERY picky). I've played everything from acoustic/folk to hard rock/heavy metal and even a few hip hop tracks and it sounds fantastic. Not only does it handle audio well, but it has very intuitive controls which allow you to accept phone calls and skip between tracks on the source as well. It seems to benefit from sitting atop a solid surface so I'm not sure how it will sound floating in my pool but Altec Lansing is solid and I have full faith that this speaker will live up to their standards. I would HIGHLY recommend this speaker to anyone wanting a lot of sound from a compact speaker (about the size of a mini can of V8).

It is extremely light and pretty loud for the size. The sound quality is better than what you'd expect from a speaker this size. Also, its waterproof!
