I was looking for a weatherproof speaker in my price range, this one is 99.99 and they have a larger version as well. First off, if you like your speaker to yell loudly at you that it's turned on, has connected, to enjoy, that it's been disconnected, and turned off- then this is the speaker for you! Personally, I can't stand it. I don't need my speaker to yell Enjoy! at me; I just want it to play my music and books. Anyway, I have had it for 8 months and I've never done anything extrenuos with it, it mostly sits on a table or counter, and it stopped charging! Altec also makes you pay to ship it to NJ so they can take a look at it. I am a bit disappointed with it, but it does get pretty loud and has pretty OK sound.
