Junk won’t stay connected junk don’t waste your time

I DON,T THINK I,LL EVERY BUY ANORTHER ALTEC. HAD THREE THAT,S IT.

I just recently started giving my two cents on reviews and when I do, I normally don't like to give five stars unless the product is exceptionally great. Well I have had this speaker for over a year now and have used it in many ways. It did take me a couple of months to find a use for it, but when the pandemic hit and I found myself at home with a lot of time to do outside projects, it got used a lot. From building a new shed, working on my car and yard work. I also used it when I took a not so lonely trip to Tybee Island, GA. It now is mainly used for a laptop that a friend gave me because the screen was cracked (The price of another screen isn't worth the price), but it works great as a set of external speakers. But the next trip I make it is going with me. The sound is great and what I love the most is how long the batteries last.

What can I say but how totally impressed I am with this mini speaker! After looking at the more expensive speakers I was directed to the speaker and the speaker did not let me down. For the price it has many features: it lights up, it has amazing sound, it can charge your phone and it’s waterproof...if you’re smart you’ll get this speaker ASAP!

I hate to give this speaker a somewhat negative review, but I can't say I would recommend it based on a few things. The sound quality and volume are great for a small speaker, but here are the cons: - Battery doesn't last as long as I would've hoped. I'd say maybe 3 or 4 hours on average. That's ok, but when the level gets to around 20%, the thing just freezes and won't charge until you just let the thing run completely out of battery. This can take a full day sometimes. Because of this, I find I can't use it when I want to regularly - Bluetooth connection can be tough to hook up and forgets devices, but I've had that problem with every speaker I've used. Maybe it's me? Lol tl/dr: It's great when it wants to work, but expect connection and battery problems

Small but loud, worth it for the price but protective case covering the speakers could be stronger (mine dented)

I bought one today and first thought it was quieter than my baby boom xl by the same company but just realized it doesn’t get as loud until you pump it up completely. I love these speakers so much and the only thing I wish with this one that I got is that it had a ton more bass but I am super happy with this one and plan on sticking with Altec Lansing

I had the problem where the power button remains on but the speaker will not show up in Bluetooth or turn on. First time, I was able to reboot using either power/+ or +/- keys. This past Friday (8/9/2019) was the last time I was able to use the speaker. I left it on as it has turned off automatically in the past when bluetooth was disconnected. Saturday morning, the power light was still on but the speaker was unusable. Called customer service; they walked me through reboot procedures (+/- keys, repeatedly pressing power key and holding it down), without success. They then advised a hard reboot, involving running down the battery, recharging, and then turning it on. They suggested connecting my cellphone to drain the speaker battery more quickly. The speaker did not charge the cellphone. I plugged the speaker in to a wall outlet using the USB cord and a working connector. The orange light came on, went off in a while, but I could not turn the speaker on. I tried the whole procedure again, and was still unsuccessful. From research, I notice that many people have this problem with the speaker. I'm beginning to think that the power button itself is defective: the other four buttons have an audible and tangible click when pressed, but the power button does not. I have contacted customer service again.

I bought this as a present Black Friday. We just now opened it (February) to use outside but we plugged it in to charge... nothing. Now, I understand it’s been almost 3 months since purchase but even if we had opened it Christmas Day, it would have been past their return policy time frame (bogus around the holidays). Manager told me they could not accept the return, even with their faulty product. Mind you we hadn’t even peeled the stickers off the thing. IF YOU DO BUY IT... open and test it immediately after purchase!

Can't give less than a 1 or I would. This is the biggest piece of garbage I have ever bought. The connection last maybe a minute or two before it starts to break up and then you have to turn off the bluetooth connection, power off the speaker and then turn everything back on only for it to last maybe a minute or two more. Looking at the generic responses that altec gives , they don't seem interested in fixing the problem . Best buy needs to move on from this brand . All of their stuff is garbage.

THis product came with a charger that did not fit properly. Eventually the whole speaker stopped working. Since July I have tried to obtain a warranty replacement charger from Altec Lansing. They keep promising they will get back to me and never do. Don't buy their products. Lousy Service. They wrong parts. Insufficient instructions. Should have returned it to BEst Buy during their return period and then I wouldn't have to deal with lousy service from Altec LAnsing

Speaker sounded great but the charging port went out a week after i bought it.

Worked great for about a week then would not play. I bought a pair and they both crapped out within days.of each other. Gonna return and look at Bose or JBL. No product manual except for a one page instruction on "Getting Started".

This device needs a Jolt of battery life. Bring back the old ones.
