Aluratek has the best customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I desired for a long time to have a Digital Photo Frame. Recently, we made a visit to USA and we bought a 14'' Digital Photo Frame Model ADMPF214FB of Aluratek at Bes Buy. When we were preparing to return to Brazil, we decided to remove the equipment from its box, in order to occupy a smaller space in the bags. Unhappily, arriving home, we realized that we lost the pack of accessories that should enclose a power adapter, a remote control, a USB 2.0 cable, a registration card and a frame stand. We got very bored about the occurred. Then, I sent an email to Aluratek and the assistance team was quite wonderful to me. They promptly provided and shipped to me a free new pack of accessories. From now on, I will give always preference to Aluratek products. Congratulation Aluratek by your customer service team and thank you very much for your assistance.

Broke a few days after warranty expired
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This photo frame worked fine for an entire year. Then, about a week before warranty expiration, it started to NOT turn on. Warranty is only for 1 year. I would play around with it, unplug it, plug it back in, and it would be coaxed into turning on. It didn't even occur to me to check the warranty. Now, a few days AFTER warranty expiration, it simply will not turn on. I've tried everything I can think of to no avail. I would have expected a product at this price to last a few years. But the warranty is only 1 year, and in my case, it only lasted 1 year.

Big is not always better...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: - Beautiful Frame - Nice Size Cons: - Bad aspect ratio: This is very rectangular which means you must crop all your pictures before using. - Very poor viewing angle: You have to be straight ahead for it to show proper colors and detail. - Poor resolution: I should have known this given the resolution and size of the display - Weak options: It is 2016...give us an option for fill screen zoom! Don't fill the screen with a stretched out image. No slideshow transitions. I feel like I'm stuck in 1999. - Glitchy: I put photos on a USB and this thing has very short glitches between photos. - Horrible packaging: The box feels like something you'd pick up at the 99 cent store. Bottomline is this company should not be in business in today's world. I'm surprised Best Buy provides this product. It's really bad. I kind of wonder if I got a lemon since everyone else seems to like it. Maybe I'm spoiled with my retina stuff from Apple...

Wasn’t as great as I thought.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so excited to purchase this product based off of the advertisement and a couple of good reviews out of the rest. However, once I was able to download all the pictures I wanted on a USB drive, the picture quality was not that great at all. even after adjusting the picture to fit the frame, the quality still wasn’t as great. You had to be up close in front of the frame in order to see the picture at all. If you were looking from a distance, the picture frame looked dark. Aside from that disappointment, the remote control was pretty difficult to navigate. I am not a senior citizen yet, and I was not able to read the black print on the dark gray buttons because they were illegible, Nor was it easy to navigate the frame. I finally decided to return it and I ended up getting some thing so much better and so much more easier to navigate. I am so glad I did not keep this picture frame. I was not happy.

Avoid at all costs!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Should be zero stars - remote is useless, photos blurry and distorted, pics from Android phones even worse, where some look like photo negatives when displayed

Do not buy!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased this frame as a birthday gift. The manual is less than adequate and lacks clarity of the basic functions. Knowing what I now know I would have purchased another make. My observations are: a) With nothing installed into the INTERNAL memory, Photos can be viewed from a SD card with relatively no problem. From a jump drive (USB 2.0) there is hesitation and video glitches present during viewing. If viewing from the jump drive, the photos will freeze with regularity and often blank the display. b) If photos are separated into Folders before copying to the device, either on SD card, USB or PC they cannot be viewed as individual folders, the frame will Lump them all together in one File. i.e. if we have 2 or more folder, “Our Cruise” (50 jpg) and “Kids Birthday” (75 jpg) the frame will cause each folders contents to be one big file (125 jpg) . If only “Kids Birthday” is wanted for viewing it cannot be done as you will be forced to view “Our Cruise” at the same time. c) I cannot get the auto timer to switch the frame on at the time that I have set. It will switch itself off at my selected time. The remote will not cause the frame to come on, I have to press and hold the Power Button on the frame. d) The display will not start at “Slideshow” when switched on, I have preset “Slideshow” in Photo set up but it starts up in “step show”. e) The data sheet on Best Buy shows Motion sensor, there is no such sensor. The LCD display is good for the price but be prepared to struggle through the operational steps. Overall Aluratek have done a very poor job with the manual. Customer service is no existent. My email to support went unanswered and after 15 minutes on hold my call back has not been done. Poor product and terrible support. Never again Aluratek.

Awful Image Quality at Any Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not only does this frame not handle different aspect ratio photos well, it has a very small viewing angle (more later). I found the manual insulting when it suggested that the user should change their picture taking ratio to deal with the frame's poor software (my words, not theirs). Back to the viewing angle... unless you are directly in front of the frame, the image quality is awful. If you ARE directly in front of it, the image quality is still marginal at best. The controls for image quality are not on-screen when there is a picture on-screen, so interactive adjustment of brightness, constant, hue is IMPOSSIBLE. If you are buying a digital picture frame, its purpose is to display your photos. Don't waste your money on this one.

Good frame but could be better

Dead Pixels Galore
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I excitedly purchased three of these as part of my shopping for Christmas. I had been restoring slides that were seemingly long lost to the family, and digitally converted them into .jpg files. These frames were going to be the perfect way to display all of my hard work, and to take my family on a cruise upon the Nostalgia Ocean. However, while I was setting up a frame on Christmas Eve, I found that it had a dead pixel. Concerning, but that's alright... I have two more that I can try. I'll just take the defective one back to the store. I set up another frame, the second out of three I had purchased. This frame had a dead pixel too. Needless to say, I didn't even bother testing the third one. I have no experience with digital frames, but I wouldn't think that dead pixels are all that common. This could be partially my fault for purchasing from a brand I'm not familiar with, but I can surely say that I won't be made a fool of again by Aluratek. What a disappointment! I hope this helps save someone the hassle of dealing with a bad product.

It's going right back
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comparing this unit to an 8" Pandigital Pantouch. The viewing angle is very limited, you essentially have straight on only. The UI is not intuitive and the online manual I found is not for this model but for the general release version-this model is BB exclusive (I didn't open the manual in the box). There are buttons on one side which are difficult to use, much less see to identify, so I stuck with the remote. That worked better so long as you have a light to read them. Dark lettering on dark background is not ideal. I plugged in a usb which had the photos I had reloaded on the Pandigital recently and could not find how to get the unit to show more than 50 of the nearly 500 photos on the usb. Of the 50 photos it acknowledged, it played less. I kept getting a "decode error" msg on others and could find no information on their website to explain this (or really much of anything). The photos were taken by Canon cameras and Windows phones, which display beautifully on the Pandigital. I am sorry to have to return it, I was really looking forward to a much larger photo display. The display size was wonderful, for the few photos it deigned to play. I didn't try any of the other features as I quickly saw that it is not a keeper

Broken just after warranty expires
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The frame always would freeze on a random picture (different one every time) and the only way out was to unplug and allow it to reboot. None of the buttons or remote would work when the frame was frozen. Unplugging was the only option. Last night it froze again, so I unplugged it. This time it would not power back on. Warranty is up, company is no help. Can find no documentation on how to reset to factory. Best guesses suggest motherboard is shot. Please don’t waste your money on this frame. That’s too much to spend on something that lasts till just after the warranty expires.

The worst
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this product as a gift. The frame only powered up once (for less than 10 minutes). We've not been able to get it to work and I was unable to gift it. This is a complete waste of money. Also, based on the reviews, this is a frequent issue that should've been resolved already. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. Also, Best Buy should remove this product from their inventory.

Lemon, Let the Buyer Beware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Aluratek picture frame for my wife for Christmas. Within 2 weeks, it started to shut off randomly and not start. I tried to take it back to Best Buy, and they refused to take it back. Nice way, to stand up and defend your product lines...So we went on to Aluratek, who finally offered to exchange it after 2 weeks of emails going back and forth...only if i paid the shipping. Nice way to stand up to your product line. This thing is a piece of junk.
