This receiver is very small, portable, and easy to hide. Sound quality through Bluetooth appears to be equal to a direct aux cable. I can't notice any loss in treble, bass or volume while using an LG G3 to stream Google Play music in car. Battery lasted close to 12 hours which can be a long time for such a small device. A chime will beep every minute or so when battery is about to quit. Pairing is a simple setup and only needs to be done once. For the most part if the adapter has recently been turned on and cellphone is in range AND has Bluetooth on standby, playing any music will connect devices automatically. If this doesn't happen, tapping the power button for 1 second will connect them. Rarely does one have to go into phone settings and re-select device. When phone leaves car for more than 10 minutes, receiver automatically powers down. Very helpful so one does not have to bother to turn off device. Downsides: It takes 5-6 seconds holding power button to turn on device; holding power button on for too long will enter pairing mode. Aux cable coming from bluetooth receiver is too short to allow for different placements in car. They should have made this receiver with an open 3.5mm jack so one can use a short or long cable depending on use. Consider that you must power on device before use which prevents it from being completely hidden or tucked away. Charging cable is not common. It appears to be a USB to "nokia style" round mini plug. It would be better if this had a micro-usb charger for more compatibility. Overall I would recommend if you have a good placement for it in your car.

I originally purchased a BluJax because I liked the form-factor. It was a real brown trout... so I purchased this Aluratek as a last ditch effort for something that worked. Please see my review of the BluJax for more info... Pros: The Aluratek's performance is phenominal... the base being transmitted via BT is full and rich and the range is clear and crisp. (not so with the other product) Cons: The cord for the 3.5mm jack is weak and flimsy and there is a tiny button for power and pairing. It would have been nice to give this 5 stars. The sound alone is worth 10 stars for $26 bucks (limited time only at that price). I am going to purchase a few more as gifts and I will tear one apart to replace the cord for the 3.5mm jack... wish me luck Thanks for looking

I have an HTC One. This actually sounds better than just going from the audio out jack on my phone to the audio in jack on my radio. I am assuming this is because it is now using digital to analog, instead of analog to analog. Also, the audio is much louder. Being hands free makes this a super buy. My audio in jack is in my center console, so I decided to use an extension cable, this way I do not have to open my arm rest each time I want to turn the Bluetooth receiver on. It automatically turns itself off at some point if there is no audio, so it does not kill the battery. If you have a newer Android or iPhone, you will not be disappointed. I guess with older phones, Bluetooth stereo technology was not up to par yet and this may not sound as well as it does on the newer phones.

    Great adapter for car stereo

Just picked this up yesterday, for use in my car with iPhone5. Car has a mini-jack input inside the armrest, to play (wired) devices through stereo, and while that had worked well for a few years, by keeping my ancient iPod wired inside the armrest, it was a huge pain to always open the armrest to change songs, etc. I'm hopeful the product will provide trouble-free use for a long time (some of the reviews have me nervous about that...) But so far, so good. I'm powering it directly off the car's aux power jack (also located inside the armrest) so I haven't had a chance or reason to test battery life. Only drawback I see so far, is tied to the very compact design (which I actually like, but...) The attached cord to connect the 3.5mm jack to the input is only about 2-3 inches long. In my armrest, the input jack is located at the bottom of a kind of deep storage well. The connection cord is not long enough to allow me to place the device up in the "top tray" of the armrest cavity. So I have to leave it down in the bottom of the well---which isn't a huge problem, except that every time I enter the car, I have to press the tiny button located on the device, to get it to connect to my iPhone. (It connects automatically and quickly each time I press the button, but you have to press the button each time -- apparently it doesn't sit there waiting to "auto sense" that my iPhone has come into range, each time I enter the car.) So I have to open the armrest & remove the top tray, to reach the bottom of the well and the device. Not the end of the world, since I do it when I first enter the car... But a longer 3.5mm cord would give added placement flexibility. It is SO much nicer/easier controlling song selection from the iPhone5 (kept in my shirt pocket, or sitting on the passenger seat, or anywhere else handy.) Audio quality has been great - the Bluetooth transmission seems to provide a louder max volume level, too, than when I directly-wire the iPhone5 into that same aux jack, which is a nice perk.

This product was recommended at my local store. The salesperson said to just plug it in and the product works, getting power from the 8mm plug. This is not the case. It must be charged using the included USB cable. There appear to be no instructions on how to get it to work, but is pretty simple. There's a power button on the side that you hold in for it to turn on and it pairs. The packaging says the charge will last for 12 hours. I've used it about that long thus far and have not had to recharge. Don't forget to power it off when not in use.

After months of having problems at our store due to an audio patch cord being run across the floor, I decided to go wireless. This bluetooth audio receiver and a bluetooth adapter were purchased to meet this need. Well, the picture doesn't really show how tiny the device really is. It's really small, like the size of a quarter (a little larger) and it's very thin, so it fits just about everywhere. The added PLUS is it includes the RCA adapter so I can patch directly into the amplifier without purchase of clumsy adapters and cords. The ONLY problem for me is it did not include a USB wall charger, or power adapter, just the USB micro adapter cord. I purchased a USB wall adapter separately, hooked everything up, and sound viola over the amplifier and quality speakers. Astounding quality, and no messy wires across the floor!
