    I bought this stove recently for a home I just moved into. The very first time I used it, I noticed a ... smell of sorts. It smelled kind of like gas. I got a headache and then after it being on about 15 minutes, it got stronger. I thought it was my furnace leaking. I called the gas company, who checked out my whole home, them turned this oven back on, and the carbon monoxide readings were through the roof! They tagged it immediately and said that at the levels the CO was, within 15 minutes, headaches would have started. Eventually dizziness and ultimately, passing out/death. It would have been a quick thing. I was home alone with myself (pregnant), my 2 and 6 year old! He advised me to open windows and hang out outside for a little while, return this oven and buy a GE instead. Apparently Amana is one of the worst brands for carbon monoxide poisoning that the gas company has found, especially "cheaper models like this one," as he put it. I have found the whole situation completely terrifying. Thankfully Best Buy has been great about the situation and I will be exchanging for something else tomorrow.

    This replaced a stove I bought in 2001. The old stove was much sturdier and heavy duty. Seems cheaper made.

    Cheaply made range but was good in a bind.I do like how big the oven window is.What I don't like is my cookware slides on the burners which could be a very dangerous situation.
