I NEED HELP!!

I am now at the very beginning of setting up my tv where i select language & pair the remote. Trying to connect the remote and it will not grab. (Toshiba FireTv). I no longer have the original remote. I have another replacement remote i used before and it turns the tv on & off and volume but that also, does not want to pair! I need help!!
