I'm sure it was a user error in purchasing the wrong one, but we researched and thought they matched.

Be careful of the model/year of your Kindle

For some reason, Kindle had to change the size ever-so-slightly so that the covers weren't more universal.

I bought it for my nieces reward for doing good in school. When I gave her the Kindle and cover she was excited as you might expect. Turns out Kindle and cover don't match, when you put the Kindle inside the cover it just falls out if you turn sideways or upside down. Close but not good. So my niece just scotch taped both sides, and said it would be okay, but I'm very disappointed for her. Otherwise great product.

It's a joke, I thought I had bought the cover for the wrong generation the first time and returned it, but even after checking and buying it the second time, it still didn't fit. Such a disappointment, should've ordered it on Amazon, not wasted my own time.
