Awesome product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice piece of technology to have in your home. I set it up to control all my electronic devices. Sometimes when I can’t find my remotes to either turn on/off or change the volume on my TV and Bose SoundTouch bar I’ll use the voice commands on the in-built Alexa. The picture quality coming out of this cube is just stunning and does not lag like my 1st generation Fire Stick I owned before purchasing this Fire TV Cube. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Awesome idea

Just ask Alexa to open apps or play specific shows. She can even turn the tv on or off and adjust the volume. If it’s late at night and you don’t want to talk you can still control everything with the remote

Good Start but Needs Improvement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All in all this product has potential but in my opinion, when compared with more mature products on the market like Apple TV, this FireTV Cube still leaves something to be desired. I've used an Echo Dot and large Echo for years and if the FireTV Cube were as responsive as these older devices I would like it much better. My biggest complaint is that the interface is sluggish and sometimes this sluggishness makes it feel unresponsive. Unfortunately, this problem also carries over into the voice-enabled features. For instance, I'll set an alarm and when the alarm goes off the Fire TV cube can't process my command to "stop alarm" fast enough and the alarm keeps going off. It lights up showing that it hears you but the sluggish processing sometimes leaves you repeating yourself multiple times until it responds. I've been an avid Apple TV user for many years. When I saw the opportunity to use the Alexa enabled voice commands of Fire TV Cube to control my television experience I was excited. I like where the technology is headed but in my opinion the processor power leaves something to be greatly desired. Perhaps if they put a beefier processor in the unit it would be able to compete with the performance and responsiveness of the more mature Apple TV interface. Until then, I won't be recommending the Fire TV Cube to my friends as I think they would find the experience frustrating. All things considered, I'm a techie and it is a fun device to play around with. The alexa-enabled features are very enticing but I usually find myself going back to Apple TV because things just work better. I bought 2 of these cubes on sale for around $80 each but wouldn't recommend full price for them at this point. Once Amazon decides to improve their code or add better processing power I'd get behind it in a heartbeat.

An outstanding streaming device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used devices from Apple and Roku as well as older Fire TV streamers, and this is easily the best of them all. I especially like the fact that it supports Dolby Vision.

Not very reliable: frustrating

I like the echo, no prblems at all. but the cube ignores you often, gets the wrong channel and then today I was watching pbs news station, and it thought it heard "reset my cube to factory settings. I couldn't find my remote fast enough, and it ignored me saying cancel, turn of the tv, and it reset me to factory. I spent an hour reseeting it up! I only paid 60 bucks on sale. I see it for 119. I wouldn't bay 20 for it.
