AMAZON FIRE TV CUBE 3RD GEN
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this little device. No need to retrieve remote to turn on tv. Can talk to it to turn on and off and increase/lower volume. Also handy when you want to know something but are too lazy to get your phone or go to the computer. Great for using as a timer when cooking or as a reminder. So many LITTLE things you can do on it.

Good but not great.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the previous cube, so I can compare it to that... Previous cube: Slower but less glitchy. Felt much more refined. Overall it was a good cube. Never had issues with it. New cube: VERY glitchy. I'm hoping they fix it with updates. SLOW for something that is supposed to be utilizing a faster octa-core processor. Very disappointing. The scrolling lags and sometimes does not even materialize icons for the apps, which gets frustrating. Also, the only way to get a fast connection is through wifi. Otherwise, you'll need to get a USB ethernet adapter to get decent speeds. If you use the built-in ethernet, you're limited to 100mbps. We're in 2023 and they're still using slow speeds for the ethernet connection. I have 1gbps fiber and I would like to use a stable connection for it. The best I get out of the USB 2.0 connection is 200mbps, which is better than the built-in port. The only good thing about this is the upscaling. It does make a difference. Looks a lot more detailed than my previous cube for some reason, even though the previous cube is supposed to be 4k. Plus I like being able to utilize my Atmos and Dolby Vision HDR setup. If it weren't for this, I'd probably just stick with my old cube. If you don't care about upscaling, atmos and Dolby Vision and/or utilize the wifi 6e connection, then you should stick with the older cube. No need to upgrade.

Not good for Amazon Music
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stepped up to the Gen3 because the Gen2 was having issues with over saturated skin tones once I switched to a TV with HDR. Didn't have the issue with the 1080P non HDR I used before. Don't have the issue with the Gen 3 either, so it did fix that. The Wi-Fi 6 is good, getting 450Mbps download so the 100Mbps NIC isn't an issue. The 4 core processor makes moving around pretty effortless and apps open quickly. Haven't used the find my remote feature yet. Note about Amazon Music on this thing: You CANNOT create playlist or add music to a playlist. Went through 5 people on a support chat today and they said use another device. No! I will cancel my Unlimited subscription and keep using Tidal! Connected to my Denon DRA-800H, 24-bit/192kHz music, streams and plays fine. Another thing is Amazon Music does not have an "exit" it keeps running and you have to go to settings/apps/manage apps/ and force stop it, else it might start on its own while you are watching something else. I use this mainly for streaming audio, so this is why only 3 stars. All in all, it is a good device.

Spectrum app is not supported on Fire devices
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spectrum app is not supported on this device. Since that was the primary reason for purchasing it, I had to return it. Never got a chance to try it out. My answer to the question "Would I recommend this item" is for those who may be buying it because you have Spectrum as your TV provider.
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from Amazon Devices Customer Support
Posted .Hello JJWI. Thank you for your feedback on the Fire TV Cube. I appreciate you bringing this important clarification to our attention regarding Spectrum app compatibility. You're correct that the Spectrum TV app is not currently supported on Fire TV devices, including the Fire TV Cube, which is an important consideration for customers who rely on Spectrum as their primary TV provider. While the Fire TV Cube offers robust equipment control capabilities for cable and satellite boxes from providers like Comcast, DISH, DIRECTV, AT&T U-verse, and Spectrum set-top boxes through voice commands and infrared control, the dedicated Spectrum streaming app is not available in the Fire TV app ecosystem. For Spectrum customers, you can still access your Spectrum service by connecting your Spectrum cable box to the Fire TV Cube using the equipment control feature, which allows you to change channels and control your cable box with voice commands through Alexa. However, if your primary goal was to use the standalone Spectrum app for streaming without a cable box, the Fire TV Cube would not meet that need. Thank you for sharing this feedback!

She is welcome
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw this at my brother's over thanksgiving and decided it was worth a try. I love it. You can download many apps such as PBS and AMC that my PS4 which I was using to make my tv "smart" did not make available. I actually kind of like not having to pick up the remote each time. She's not always accurate in finding programs but on the whole she's a good addition to my not so smart home.

Falling in love.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.so far, I love the firecube. I haven't done everything I got it for yet, but it already does more than I wanted it to. It has a great sound, and now I can stream music in my living room in addition to controlling my tv. It's making me want to get more products that work with it so I can turn my home into a smarthome.

Jury is still out
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had trouble with some of the earlier versions of this. But so far this one here seems to be working better like I said, the jury is still out. The Alexa part seems to work a lot better on the version three
