Our devices are not designed to only last a certain amount of time. We hope every customer gets more than their money's worth from every device they purchase. We do have numerous updates that we push to devices to ensure they have the latest features and interface and sometimes older devices may not have the compatibility or processing power for some of the latest updates as happens with all tech that receives over the air updates. We take any and all feedback seriously, though, and appreciate your concerns as we are always improving our product lineup, both existing and new, to be the best they can be for our customers. My "smart" Samsung TV is no longer smart after 6 years so I bought the fire stick to get more enhanced features of a smart tv.

I like that the newer firesticks can control the volume on the TV. I like that it has the buttons for Netflix and Hulu on the remote.
