While this does have the negative that it has to be connected to power, it has made streaming much faster for us! It also does require the volume to be slightly higher than the streaming apps directly on our tv, but that may be an issue with the tv itself and not this firestick. Definitely recommend!

Remote control has additional buttons useful when watching live tv.

I understand your frustration about not being able to access the Spectrum app on your Fire TV device. The Fire TV Stick runs on Fire OS, which is Amazon's operating system based on Android but customized specifically for Fire TV devices, with its own app ecosystem through the Amazon Appstore. Unfortunately, the Spectrum TV app is not currently available in the Amazon Appstore for Fire TV devices, which means it cannot be installed on the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. App availability depends on whether developers choose to make their apps compatible with Fire OS and list them in the Amazon Appstore, and while many popular streaming apps are available, some providers like Spectrum have not made their apps available for Fire TV platforms at this time. Actually got it for $60 only to see it was put on sale like a week later for $40. Wish I would have waited. However I love our firestick.
