I have more memory and the max delivers… It’s super responsive. The picture quality seems to be better in my opinion with the third GEN fire stick Dolby Vision to work… it’s super affordable vs the competition and it’s a must have if you’re looking for inexpensive streaming device.

Good hardware, lots of ad tech

Shame that everything is coated in a thick slathering of ads, the home screen auto plays ads at max volume unless you opt out of it in the settings. It's also constantly sending every click you make to advertisers unless you opt out of it, at least the option is there I guess.

While I'm glad the hardware performance and application selection are meeting your needs, I understand how disruptive auto-playing ads at maximum volume can be on your home screen. To address this, you can disable auto-playing ads by going to Settings > Preferences > Featured Content and turning off "Allow Video Autoplay" and "Allow Audio Autoplay." For privacy concerns regarding click tracking, navigate to Settings > Preferences > Privacy Settings where you can disable "Device Usage Data," "Collect App Usage Data," and "Interest-based Ads" to limit data sharing with advertisers. While these settings won't eliminate all advertisements from the interface, they will significantly reduce the intrusiveness and give you more control over your viewing experience and data privacy. The screen frequently appears in a picture-in-picture mode without warning, which I don't understand because I've owned multiple firesticks and they never done that.

Most smart TVs nowadays have a console for you to watch apps on, so the need for one of these are starting to dwindle. With that being said, I think that the fire stick can be a solution if your TV doesn't have streaming apps or if you need a replacement device to stream from your apps (Youtube, HBO Max, AppleTV, Netflix, etc.). The setup for this is straightforward and user friendly. Navigating the menus are pretty easy as well. Overall, this gets the job done with making streaming more convenient and having a one-stop shop for all of your streaming services.
