If you have Amazon Prime, the Stick (or the FireTV Box) is the best thing available. If you also have Netflix and Hulu Plus, and you like Kodi/XBMC, it's unbeatable for the price. Sideloading apps via ADB is very easy, and the OS is very robust. In terms of full Android use, you can load essentially anything, but the only sideloaded apps I have tried that are really optimized for the d-pad remote are Kodi/XBMC and Crunchyroll, basically anything else and you will need a different bluetooth remote (bluetooth touchpad remotes with keyboards are very available, if you want a bluetooth airmouse you are looking at maybe $50+). Sideload FireStarter from the XDA forums if you want to easily access your sideloaded apps. I bought a second Stick a month or so after the first, I'm thinking about buying a third and setting it up for a relative. If you don't have Prime, the home screen, which is dominated by Amazon content, would probably get pretty old.

Simple to setup and operate. I was surprised at how easy it is to stream programs and navigate thru menu. HD quality picture. I have a smart TV, but this is alot faster and eaiser. Will purchase another for second TV.

Out of all the options of dongles out there. The firestick works great. It is just as good as the chromecast if not better because of the remote that is included and the fact that there is an app available in the play store to use on your phone as another remote or keyboard.

As a grad student without cable, the Fire Stick is perfect for me. I can play music, watch netflix and amazon prime, view youtube, and play games on my TV. It'd be even better if the prime music playlist would update quicker and the stick itself was cordless somehow. Other than that, I love the product and would definitely recommend it (esp. for people with amazon prime).

Have an old 50" plasma that was starting to feel stale in this day and age of Smart TVs. Buying a Fire TV Stick on sale suddenly opened up a whole other world of new uses for this TV. My nieces in particular are always watching their favorite shows on Netflix, which was great because it meant we could finally start purging some of their old recordings off our constantly maxed out DVR. Wi-Fi reception has always been strong, especially when using the included HDMI extender. Most of the major streaming apps are available, as well as some of the lesser ones. This stick is not meant for gaming however; for that you'll want the regular Fire TV box. Streaming use is excellent though. I do feel the layout of the Home screen could use some work, especially when compared to a Roku, but you get used to it fast enough. All in all, cheaper than buying a brand new Smart TV that would likely lose app support after only a few years anyway.

Setup was easy, it linked to my Amazon account and I was able to stream video from my Amazon Prime. I haven't tried the apps like Netflix on it yet. I like that it comes with a remote instead of having to use your phone as the remote like with Chromecast. The remote is bluetooth and works pretty good, but I can't use my Logitech Harmony to control it. Overall, I like it.

This is great! Much faster and responsive than the 1st generation Roku it replaced. The interface is very easy to use and it's seriously the greatest remote I've ever used. The only negative is that it chatters on the network if you don't put it to sleep when not in use.

I purchased this during the 2014 holiday season when it was on sale for around $20 if memory serves. I also own Chromecast for use with Netflix but I never use it anymore since I got the Amazon Fire TV Stick which provides access to Netflix along with a myriad of other services. Why did I purchase the Fire TV Stick, you ask? Well, I recently picked up the Amazon Prime service and thought I could maximize that investment by actually using the video features that come along with it, hence purchasing the Fire TV Stick. As I'm writing this review, I can't really see any reason to go back to the Chromecast as the Fire TV Stick can do everything the Chromecast does, and them some. It's especially worth it if you have Amazon Prime, obviously. Other than that, it never drops network connection or anything - just plug it in, sign in to whatever apps you like, and cruise through the smooth creamy experience that is the Amazon Fire TV Stick. We already have an Apple TV, which we love, but we were looking for a device that offered a little bit more customization. This was perfect. I did a lot of research, and the Amazon Fire TV stick is definitely the best buy for the price. It comes with 8GB of storage (which in reality is about 5GB, still good for a streaming stick of it's size and price!), and 1GB of RAM. It comes with the charger and HDMI cord, everything you need to plug and play. I actually like the visual display on the Fire better then the Apple TV, and the Fire is a lot faster. I've had less problems so far, (although any problems I've had with the Apple TV fix relatively quick, with a restart or update), but the Amazon Fire TV stick is just more versatile, and the quality even seems a little bit better (dunno if it really is). The remote is a bit bigger than the Apple TV Remote, which I like because we're less likely to lose it. Would definitely recommend!

I purchased Fire TV because of reviews, it doesn't disappoint. Great streaming device, easy to set up, comes with handy HDMI extension cable, usb cable and AC adaptor. I recently upgraded to ac router, wow, streaming is now awesome. Thanks Amazon for great product.

I wasn't too sure about this product because of the reviews but mainly because I have shotty internet. I have a hard enough time watching shows through my iPad or downloading on demand, I could only imagine how this would be. So far my connection has been better than I expected, but I don't know how much this has to do with the actual product. I was surprised how many apps were available for free download (hbogo, showtime anytime, starz, Hulu, Netflix, etc). I purchased amazon prime once I realized the Internet was ok and I've been very pleased. The set up was very easy. It just took some time to set up all the apps & get used to what's available to me for free. I like how my tv powers on when I turn on the prime stick or it goes to my directv when it's off without me having to do any work. I plan on getting another one for my mom so she'll stop hanging out in my room and controlling the remote! :)

Listened to the sales consultant and went with the affordable fire stick. This was easy to set up on my tv and and it has all the buttons you need to get the job done. No need to spend anymore money on expensive ones when this does the trick, I recommend this highly

Originally purchased Amazon Fire Stick beginning of this year for $40. Family/friends were so enamored with mine that I purchased 2 more on Black Friday for $25 each. Perfect solution if you don't have a smart tv. Enjoy lots of apps/games and there is no lagging.

The Amazon Fire Stick is easy to hook up and operate. My picture is crystal clear when watching. You do have to subscribed to some Apps which is a fee. Also you need to purchase another piece of equipment which is a reasonable price to play games or to watch U Tube.

I have been looking for a easy device to stream Amazon Prime to non SmartTVs. Amazon does not allow streaming via Chromecast, as I found out, but these perform excellently. Responsive and easy to setup. Simple remote. Really adds value to my older flatscreen HDTVs.

Can't go wrong with this fire stick. It can be customized in so many ways and has a good amount of apps to choose from. Very smooth but it also depends on your WiFi network. Some fire sticks seem faster than others but it all depends on the quality of the WiFi.

Really like this product. Picture quality is great and it's really easy to setup. It's even better if you have Amazon Prime to stream movies but you can still stream Netflix, Hulu, etc. without the Prime membership. I like it better than the Google Chromecast that we have on the other TV.

So, the main reason I bought this was to watch Netflix, Hulu Plus and Amazon prime videos on my TV without the exposed cable natures of slightly larger boxes like the Fire TV. For me, it does what I want it to do: Access these apps whenever I want. I will be honest and say it has some lag when quickly switching between apps or loading up videos. It's such a small stick that I can forgive these little hiccups. I have not tried the games or other available apps, but for my entertainment needs it works smoothly. I highly recommend this for anyone looking to just play movies from their home TV sets without a bunch of cables sticking out. Oh yeah, it works great at hotels and for portable video streaming on vacations!

I really like the fire stick. It's easy to use. I like the layout of the remote. It is not confusing and I like how well it coincides with my amazon account. I would like to get the keyboard at a lower price because right now it cost as much as the fire stick. I'm not sure if it can be used as a normal shopping tool on Amazon.com but that would be great.
