Friends kept recommending it to me but I couldn't help but wonder if I would get $100 (the annual membership fee) worth of use out of the service. I signed up for a free trial and just kept going with it and I love it. And the Amazon Fire Stick helps me to enjoy the benefits of Amazon Video anywhere I can take the stick with me and plug into a TV via an HDMI connection. I can easily make any of my televisions a smart TV and I can even take the device with me on vacation. I also have an Apple TV, but it has to be hardwired into the television, so the Amazon Fire Stick is a nice complement to the Apple device.

Great buy for the price

Compared to the appletv the fire stick feels clunky and not as refined as the appletv. However, functionality wise they are about equal and you can stream online movies from just about the same sources (maybe even a few more). Overall it does its job with the occassional reset to speed it up again. It is a great buy for the price.
