Could be fun, but problems with buffering, band width and subscriptions are frustrating.

I purchased this on black friday and was very sceptical because my friend bought the chromecast and it's very inconvenient to have to have a phone or a computer constantly going to be able to stream to the chromecast. However that being said the Amazon fire tv stick is great it comes with a remote control in the box which works perfectly, the fire tv stick connects to your home network through wifi and is a wonderful product basically transforming a regular flatscreen into a smart tv. I've seen reviews where people have said the fire tv stick is sluggish and a cruddy product which is completely untrue, I know its no supercomputer or anything but I haven't found it to be slow at all.

The movies are slow to load and sometimes they fast forward without any warning.

Amazon Fire Stick was so easy to install and use. I didn't have to read the directions to install the stick to my TV. Once I plugged the stick into the TV and the electrical plug into the wall socket, the system turned on immediately. You sign on to Amazon using your Prime account and viola, I was able to access anything with my Prime account. It is so small that I can travel with it anywhere. It won't take too much room in your luggage.

I've bought 3 firesticks over the past three years... they all start out great, then one day just stop working!! I can't keep buying firesticks! The last one I bought was back in March, its now June and it has already stopped working!! I'm done, going to try Roku.

To much buffering replaced with the voice activate box and now im happy

I purchased Amazon Fire TV Stick primarily to convert my office tv to 'smart tv'. I currently own Chromecast, but wanted to give Fire TV stick a try. My use for my office tv is primarily to stream content from my living room tv through sling box. I liked the easy set up of Fire TV stick and the fact that it streams Amazon Prime Instant (I am a Prime member and not available through Chromecast), but in order to stream sling box to my office tv is through 'Screen Mirroring' using my Samsun Galaxy S5. After a few hours of trying to connect to my S5, the screen mirroring kept on dropping the signal (not sure why?). This is not an issue using Chromecast. In my humble opinion, Fire TV Stick is a great product if you are streaming Netflix, Hulu, Prime Instant or using pre-loaded apps (you can even stream video from media server using AllCast app). For the purpose of my use (to stream live tv using sling box) Fire TV stick did not work. This is the sole reason I cannot give it 5 stars and sticking with Chromecast. Perhaps Fire TV stick is too new and not very well supported across popular video streaming apps.
