Easy to connect

Because it is an Amazon product, you must have an Amazon account. In order to take advantage of the "free" movies, music, and games, you also need to have Amazon prime. It can be used for DirectTV Now as well as other applications (e.g. Netflix, Hulu, HBONow, Sling, etc.); you will need to download the application and (if applicable) pay a subscription fee which varies depending on the application. If your home WiFi signal strength is not strong or consistent, your viewing will be impacted (slowness also called buffering). So you will have a better experience with Amazon Fire TV as the connection can be wired (ethernet cable directly to your modem or switch).
