We bought this Firestick to replace a name brand bluetooth DVD player with apps. The Firestick is very fast to load and play various apps, where the DVD player kept buffering and losing internet. With the Firestick, you can add the Downloader app, and download various apps that aren't pre-installed. I watch a lot of Youtube, and the Firestick works perfectly for that.

Tv on a budget!!! Great for everyone in the family. One in every room in our home! Variety for all ages are able to be downloaded in the apps.

I currently own an Apple TV, Roku stick, and now a Fire Stick. Of the 3 each has it's advantages. I honestly like the Roku the best of all them, but the Fire Stick is a good runner up. There are a ton of apps and features. You have to set up an account with Amazon to work it, but you don't have to pay them anything for that account. Now if you have a paid Prime account the experience with the Fire stick will be better because you can access video and original content, but you can do that on a Roku with the Amazon app too. If you are already on the Amazon platform this is a good addition to your home.

I purchased the Amazon Fire Stick to stream content to a small TV we have in the kitchen. In talking with the Best Buy staff I thought I had found an economical solution for the small TV. What I discovered after setting the unit up was that it would not allow me to stream content from Comcast Xfinity which was the source of local channels and live network broadcast. The menu system was quirky. I returned the unit and purchased a new Roku Stick. It allows me to stream the Xfinity content, Amazon and the other services I was interested in. The remote allows single control of the TV so my TV remote has been put away. I also do not have to a separate power source from the Roku stick. It is powered from the TV's USB.

I chose not to buy a Smart TV, and instead, went with the Fire Stick. Set-up was easy. The Alexa voice sync doesn't require you to actually say "Alexa" to wake it up, which is a good thing if you already have an Echo. When I first tried it, my Echo responded that it couldn't find what I was looking for. So just push the Alexa button on the remote, then talk.

Great for streaming and easy to use. Supports 4k. Price is affordable.

I have Roku stick and Firestick bought the same week. I kept both because while I like Firestick better, I needed a Roku stick or a Samsung Smart TV to stream on a bedroom TV without a Spectrum cable box. Roku and Samsung Smart TV’s are the only ones that can download and use the Spectrum app to allow me to stream Live TV in another room without paying for another cable box every month. Having said that, if Firestick had the Spectrum app downloadable in their App Store, I would probably have 2 Firestick instead of one of each (Roku and Firestick). Firestick remote control is nicer to hold in your hand - slimmer and less clunky. The Firestick remote responds quicker than Roku remote. The graphics interface for everything is more sophisticated and nicer to look at and work with than the home screen and menus of the Roku. One wish list for all of these streaming devices on future models - it would be really helpful to make the remote a little bigger and put channel numbers 0 thru 9 on the remotes. My senior citizen mother is having a rough time with strictly using the arrow up, down, left and right buttons for getting to her channels. Also, I would like to see the ability to keep Firestick or Roku always on instead of auto sleeping after some time passes. When Mom turns off the TV and comes back to it later, she has to choose her source first, press a button to wake the Roku, wait for the Roku to come up and then choose the Spectrum app and wait for it to load before she can begin watching live tv again. Highly recommend this Firestick over Roku if you do not need the Spectrum TV app specifically. It would have been 5 stars from me if it had the Spectrum app and I did not have to buy one of each.

I have decided to cut down on my cable bill, and Amazon’s Fire Stick helped me do the job. Great movies, and documentaries you can’t go wrong!!

As mentioned, you can't go wrong with the purchase of an Amazon Fire TV Stick. This is my 2nd purchase, both were made for a non-smart TV. This review is for the 2nd purchase. I mounted a small TV in front of my elliptical, which is in my computer room and I didn't want to have another cable line run for it. My wife suggested a Fire Stick! A no-brainer !

The Amazon Fire Stick is very easy to usel You plug the stick to a usb on the tv and fill out an information form and you're ready to go! It's that simple! Probably the hardest thing is to find your password ( The box that is needed for your internet service) should have the password somewhere attached on it.. The Fire Stick is ready and you can now watch Youtube,Netlix,etc.

Fire Stick is very easy to use and works well. Could use a better battery encasement. Seems the batteries "get loose" from picking up and setting down the Fire Stick.

I used to use a blu-ray player to use apps. My tv is not a smart tv. So I use the fire stick to watch a streaming service and it boots up fast.
