Works very well and was a breeze to setup. We have used it on quite a few hotel stays without an issue as well and it goes with us everywhere now.

    Remote makes a difference

I purchased the fire stick with the remote and without. I regretted not getting both with the remote (though you can use an app if you didn't initially get the remote). The app is a minor hassle and something else to have handy besides two remotes (universal tv and fire stick). I don't need 4K streaming (and very little content) so I'm much happier with this purchase than if I got the bigger box. It could be a little faster, but honestly great for the capability, quality in stream, and price. This is an upgrade from the chromecast since I can't get cheap Amazon content streamed through my phone on the chromecast.

Got this device as a Christmas present for my mother-in-law since the Chromecast we got her a while back was not compatible with her Fire tablet. Opted for the voice control to ensure her 'non-tech-savvy-ness' wouldn't hinder the experience. Haven't heard anything but good since!

I love my fire tv stick. Now I can play music from Pandora on my surround sound system, watch youtube videos, watch movies on netflix. I'm getting prime next and have cancelled my premium cable channels and cut my bill in half. Great, easy to use product with voice control.

bought a Chromecast before this, really disappointed with the set up process which was really cumbersome. Then I read some reviews about the Fire TV Stick, and the thing that jumped out was the fact that you can log onto a WiFi network directly from the Fire Stick (which is a godsend for hotels that require you to put in a code thru a website). Best Buy had this on sale so I bit, and its been awesome! It certainly helps that I'm already an Amazon Prime member, but it's nice to use the web browser on this as well (it's not that fast, but it gets the job done). It also seems to offer Miracast screen sharing capability, but I haven't had a chance to test that yet, although that's another good option to have. Money well spent!!

I have a 4 year old Samsung "Smart TV" and was tired of the slow performance of NetFlix and other Apps. I picked up the Amazon FireTV Stick and had it up in running in less than 5 minutes. I am already a hugh fan of Amazon and this unit is fast and works great.

We tossed our Apple TV once we used the Fire Stick for the first time. If you are Amazon Prime there are lots of free movie choices in addition to Netflix. The music is great as well. Better than Pandora which is also available. Good price great product.

Great cheap and affordable option to install KODI to be able to stream almost anything you want to your TV. Go to Youtube for help with KODI on the Fire Stick along with other Streaming Devices.

Great product. I use it daily. Great for adults and I am able to pull up children's shows and videos. I loved it so much I got one for my 75 year old father who is not tech savvy and he uses it all the time and was able to figure it out quickly.

    Amazon Fire TV Stick Review

It’s hard to make a streaming stick that isn’t just another streaming stick. The idea is to create a go-between two devices – from small screen to big. There’s nothing particularly exciting or ‘different’ to do with that simple formula apart from improving it. That’s what the Chromecast does, that’s what the Roku Streaming Stick does and it’s what the Lenovo Cast does. That, however, is not what the Amazon fire stick does. Well, not quite exactly. Sure, you can upload your photos and pictures onto Amazon’s cloud and view them on your TV via the Fire Stick, but that’s about it. Everything else happens on the stick and Amazon’s video store. Amazon’s streaming stick is, in essence, a portal to Amazon’s warchest of TV shows, movies and music – with a very fancy remote. Here’s how I got on with the $34 dongle. Design It’s a stick with a HDMI connection and “Amazon” emblazoned across it. Oh, and there’s a power cable sticking out of it. That’s about it. Chances are you’ll rarely look at it once it’s plugged in, so there’s no need for it to be anything other than functional. One *small* annoying feature I noticed was that the power cable sticks out of the top of the device, rather than out of the side like it is on the Chromecast. Which means that it will get in the way of other cables sticking out of your TV if your HDMI connections are stacked vertically, although it does come with a HDMI extension cable to alleviate the problem. The remote is a far more attractive piece of kit. It’s small, smooth, a pleasure to hold and connected via bluetooth so you won’t have to aim at the stick to operate it. It’s simple in its button configuration and the directional circle is a nice touch. Although, that all changed when I dropped the remote and it split in to pieces. The directional wheel came off and, after 15 minutes of trying to force it back into place, it never felt the same. The left-sided button is now stiff and requires some force to register a press, which heavily impacted navigating around the interface. Fortunately, there’s an accompanying app that turns your phone into a remote control and includes the additional voice search feature, which works well enough. The app’s ability to voice search, or use your smartphone keyboard, saves you lots of frustrated minutes individually selecting letters with the Fire Stick remote.

The only down side is you need one for each television if you don't want to move it around. Other than that, it's great

Absolutely love it. With Chromecast, I constantly have wifi connectivity issues; but I am yet to have any connectivity issues with this. also the Remote is awesome! I am thinking now to get rid of my cable to replace with all streaming....

This is my second one purchased within a week, since I was so impressed at its features. As a Prime member, it gives me access to so many benefits and more! Highly recommend the voice controlled model, but don't shy away from the one without.

It's really easy to set up and use. Only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a keyboard to type into the search box so you have to use the remote to scroll through the "keyboard" on the tv screen. It's annoying and takes a while but still a good product.

Bought for my parents at christmas and they loved it..particularly the voice option and found it easy to use. After their feedback went to buy one for ourselves and twice it was out of stock at the store. Third times a charm, I got the last one. Apparently they are pretty popular. We are amazon prime members and purchase a lot of movies that are then available in our library at any time. Have not used all features yet but it has a lot of cool options including one that shows you imdb info on demand about actors in movie you are watching.

Very happy with this purchase. Bought this as an alternative to cable. Saving a ton of money and love how easy it is to navigate Amazon's menus. Just a reminder, you need to subscribe to amazon prime to unlock full features and content.

    Nice Travel Stick

I bought this to replace my Amazon Fire TV that I used to carry while traveling. I wanted something a little smaller for my backpack and thought the stick would be just the thing. I was kind of right. The stick does everything I used the Fire TV for (I don't play games on it) and the remote is a necessity when using it in a hotel where your phone will not work as a remote. I also have Roku sticks at home, but went with the Amazon stick so I could purchase movies without using yet another account. The weaknesses that I have found so far: 1. None of the TV USB ports have enough power to power the stick. I thought it having a USB power adapter would have prevented me from searching for a power outlet near the tv (which can be challenging in some hotels). It powers up, warns you it's not enough, and then restarts. Every tv I've tried does the same thing. 2. While watching Prime, the stick "cut out" several times. It didn't say buffering or otherwise indicate bad wifi and it was in the same hotel that I had the full blown Fire TV in earlier and it worked just fine. However, the stick went to a black screen for a second or two 3 times in a 30 minute episode. Next episode, same result. The box that it comes in isn't that much smaller, but that's because I opted for the remote version. The stick is definitely smaller. The remote works well from across the room so no complaints there. Also, the voice search is kind of nice and kind of a pain because it is self filtering. I'm waiting for improvements so you can search Netflix and Prime only. Still, I'm very happy with the stick in general and will continue using it to see how it improves. Amazon is very good about updating and fixing issues so I'm not too worried about the glitches at this point.

Got this as a gift, but has turned into something I use very often. Vooice control is a plus. When coupled with Amazon Prime and HBO to go...have always something decent to watch.
