Customers are saying

Customers regard the Fire TV with 4K Ultra HD and Alexa Voice Remote very positively, frequently praising its ease of use, 4K streaming capabilities, and excellent picture quality. Many appreciate the device's performance and the value for its price. While some users wish for more storage and an Ethernet port, the positive feedback on ease of use and picture quality outweighs these concerns. The simple setup and voice control features are also commonly highlighted as beneficial.

This product is pretty much the same as the firesick, only waste your money if you have a 4k tv, other than that the regular firestick is just as good and cheaper!

Just after the 1 year warranty expired, this model would not load up. After doing a researched online, people have been having same issues since 2016. No wonder Amazon decided to pull this item from production. Too bad they did not want to replace this product after receiving so many back with same issue. If you purchased this item Mae sure you do manual update on the product. The automatic function in some units are faulty. IF the system is not updated, it will eventually freeze up and remain in the Welcome to fire tv mode and its too late to do anything.

1 yr later I wish I would've gotten just a Firestick. This drops the connection every 30 seconds now. WiFi and Ethernet!!! My stick works with no issues!!

Kept for a week to see how the 4K worked with my oled and it was subpar and lacked good content or sound quality. I picked up the Apple 4K TV and even though it was twice as much it is totally worth it.

The new 4K firetv box really did not hit the spot. First the dongle is just not very user friendly, I could see it breaking off in time. It just really did not do for me what I hoped.

I have a first generation fire tv that blows this new one away. I purchased 3 of them and all three had to be returned with some defect or another. My firesticks trump this

I bought a few of these, gave one to my daughter for her dorm room and within a week the remote stopped working, she tried to use the downloadable phone remote for it but couldn’t connect it to the device due to the type of internet security the dorms had... Not knowing she had these issues I installed one on our home TV and within a week that remote stopped working... I bought a replacement remote for it and it stopped working shortly after purchase... got a Chromecast and haven’t had a problem since...

To many issues. Volume, latency was bad, remote would scroll on it's own, and video quality was ok. I liked the Amazon UI but that's about it for this product.

many of the services have lower Frames per Second that you get thru your local cable provider. As a result sports look jerky and are unwatchable.

It did not perform as well as I was hoping. The streaming in 4K had glitches, and audio would lose sync.

It's my fault for not researching this prior to purchase, but I thought there would be enough content like tv shows and movies to get rid of Dish, however that is not the case. Example, I searched Smokey and the Bandit to watch it one evening and it was an additional $3.99. Really? Not worth it to me. I'll just continue to use the apps on my TV and receiver.

    Very Disappointed..

This is a bad replacement for the old version of FireTV and is more of an upgraded version of the Fire Stick. I’ve been a big fan of all other forms of the Fire TV family, I have a first generation FireStick, 2 second generation FireSticks, and a FireTV2. That’s why I preordered and was excited for the first updated FireTV in two years. Needless to say this was a huge disappointment and marketed completely wrong by Amazon. As an “upgraded” version of the FireTV, this device fails in almost every way possible... Internal components - FAIL External option features - FAIL OS6 Firware - FAIL (not ready for initial release) Amazon removed the built in ethernet attachment and instead makes you purchase an ethernet accessory dongle if you want the option to hard wire the internet. They removed the microSD slot, removing the possibility of expanding the memory for additional apps, games, or playing digital content that you already own. They also removed the USB option for a keyboard, mouse, or hard drive. Looking at the specs the processor is actually slower, and the 4k capability is only SLIGHTLY improved over the FireTV2. After two years of design the only display difference was to upgrade 4k from 30fps to 60fps. The older version feels faster and loads videos and apps quicker than this device also. The OS6 is still glitchy and had trouble loading your apps on the homepage and the 'My Apps" page. I'm sure the OS will receive updates to fix these issues, but should have been done before the release. Yes the price is cheaper than the old version, but you are definitely purchasing a lesser product. As I said, if you are looking for an improved FireStick, this is an upgrade.
