Customers are saying
Customers regard the Fire TV with 4K Ultra HD and Alexa Voice Remote very positively, frequently praising its ease of use, 4K streaming capabilities, and excellent picture quality. Many appreciate the device's performance and the value for its price. While some users wish for more storage and an Ethernet port, the positive feedback on ease of use and picture quality outweighs these concerns. Amazon - Fire TV with 4K Ultra HD and Alexa Voice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my forth Amazon product from BestBuy, I bought the Amazon - Fire TV and Amazon Fire Stick models back in (2015). I recently bought two Amazon - Fire TV with 4K Ultra HD and Alexa Voice for my sister and cousin. If you know what you're doing you should have no problems loading apps up on these products. But with the new version Amazon should not have removed the ethernet port and the micro memory card slot. That was not a good idea. The older fire tv ran faster due to it having an ethernet connection. But other than that it's a great product. Just load up Kodi and other apps and you are ready to go, it’s faster and easier to use and watch movies than other products on the market. Watch over 500,000 movies and TV episodes from Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Hulu, HBO, Showtime, Starz and more including, live TV, including sports and news, as it airs. Plus, stream millions of songs through Prime Music, Spotify, Pandora, and iHeartRadio. Subscription fees may apply.

Great Picture, no lagging on wifi, annoying remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture and speed of the fire tv is a huge improvement over the entry level fire tv stick and roku, which I've also owned before. The only annoying issue I had was that the remote AND the fire tv remote app wouldn't work out of the box. I had to look up how to reset the fire tv with the seemingly non-working remote (you hold down the center button and the pause/play button until it pairs). This wasn't on the instructions anywhere for some asinine reason...still 5 stars though. But seriously you shouldn't have to google how to set up the darn thing.

Expected a lot more for a current gen device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Never had a Fire Stick and with all the rave reviews I thought jumping into the FireTV arena with this new device would be a no-brainer. Clean interface. However it is super laggy, and pretty slow for a current gen premium-priced device. The OS does not feel snappy or responsive. Out of the box the device required a firmware update that took longer than expected even though I have near gigabit internet speeds. This was to replace/complement the built-in Roku in my smart TV. Even though the Roku is over a year old, it is still faster than this device. Also not having an ethernet port to hardwire is a big negative. It is a small compact size, and the remote is ergonomic and user friendly. The software UI is very much about keeping you within Amazon's ecosystem with ads plastered for its programs/products all over the home screen. The Alexa voice remote works fine, but was very limited (I tried to have it set a timer and it told me it wasn't supported on this device)

Replaced Fire Stick with This Fire TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For one reason only. The Fire Stick didnt have the ability to give me 2160 p when available from any source. It only went up to 1080. We just got a new 60" 4K TV that has 2160p and I was not going to miss out on the option of 2160p when available. I had it up and running in just a flash, it operates just the same as the stick, but has a few more options you can set in its menus such a color bit depth, pixels, etc. The picture delivered by the Fire TV combined with the 4K television is a great in home entertainment experience.

They Broke It
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazon completely managed to take this version of the fire tv backwards. I own 3 of the previous fire tv versions. I will never again purchase a fire tv going forward until amazon fixes their massive mistake. The big mistake?... they removed an ethernet port so you can no longer hard wire your device. Other than that i'm not impressed by the speed of this device compared to the previous line. My advice... go for roku.

Solid new Fire device. Way to go Amazon!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Currently I have a Roku Stick, a Fire TV 2nd Gen, and a Fire Stick 1st Gen in the house. I absolutely LOVE the Fire TV but loathe the fire stick. Its clunky and slow. I was hesitant to purchase the new Fire TV as my entire house is wired and I prefer the constant reliability versus wireless especially with the over abundance of wireless devices we now have. I was blown away with how speedy this baby is! As fast as my Fire TV CPU wise. Wireless speed and range are stellar. I am able to hit my Access Point on the 3rd floor from the 1st floor at full speed. My iPhone 7+ can't do that reliably. As with all the other previous Fire devices, support for 3rd party apps is still available if that is your thing ;) . My only gripe is that I have to purchase an adapter to be wired if I choose to do that in the future. I patiently await the Cube release with integrated Alexa as I am sure it will be even better.

Fire TV issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought an Amazon Fire TV this week since it was 4k compliant. I have a Denon AVR S510BT. My TV is not 4K. I hooked it up to my receiver. It worked fine while I was playing from the Fire TV, but if I changed to watch live TV or watch my Tivo after a few minutes the TV would start flickering about every 10 seconds, also the screen would go black for 10 seconds and then come back. I exchanged the Fire TV and the same result with new unit. I hooked the Fire TV to one of the TVs HDMI ports and it is working fine, but audio only through the TV speakers.

Awsome Streamer for Cord Cutting
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just purchased my Amazon Fire TV (Pendant) some call it version three.... about one month ago and have lowered my cable bill by $100/month. Am a Amazon Prime member and also subscribed to Hulu Live TV so with both services shows are basically unlimited and variety is great. Set up was very simple and system was up and running in less than thirty minutes. I use WiFi internet connection and have not had any issues with buffering or interruptions when watching shows and movies. Would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to be a cord cutter.

It’s ok so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently bought this yesterday and it was lagging a little bit but nothing really noticeable. I recently got rid of my cable because I hardly watch tv anyways. I like it so far and will be putting Kodi on it within a couple of days!!! Excited, trying to see if I should purchase the fire stick also for my son today. I don’t have anything to compare it to because this is my first time trying the streaming (firetv) but it’s worth the price. I got this for $43.00... $10 off

Upgrade for firestick but no replacement firetv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start out by saying ive have all the generations of fire tvs and firesticks. This 3rd generation fire tv is no replacement for the 2nd generation firetv which in my opinion is the best. The fact with this one there is no micro sd card slot for extra storage or an improved amount of storage this thing is just more of an upgraded quadcore fire stick that supports 4k. Also not a fan of the way it hangs off the back of the tv that puts strain and with eventually damage the hdmi port on the tv. I do appreciate that they made it that way so it doesnt require a separate hdmi cable as the 1st and 2nd generation did. But it needs to be longer or something. I shouldn't have to buy a mounting bracket because it wasnt thoughtfully designed. But being that you cant buy the older generations anymore easily and this is the only game in town its not the worst thing in the world.

Works great with dish
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have dish network and the remote viewing app on Amazon is great. This version is 1/4 the size of the previous 4k and runs just as well. With recent sales can't beat it for features you get for the price.
