I recently purchased this for my new 4K and while it works good and is somewhat faster I have a big issue with the design. I'm going to have an electrical outlet installed on my wall so that I can wall mount my TV but for some unknown to me reason -- the electrical plug (which isn't shown online on on the box) is ridiculously long. It seems to be a good two inches long which makes it difficult to plug in behind a TV. WHY? the previous plugs were square and FLAT.

I think this works way better than my apple tv and defintely way faster.

I was so excited to Pre-order this, but was very disappointed when I plugged it in. It was easily but that was the last great thing about it!!! Mostly every app loads but watching them it's constant buffering, the thing is my modem is right nest to the like 3 inches away from where my Fire Tv is plugged in. Very disappointing and was so looking forward to not sending this back. Amazon offered to give me the optional ethernet attachment, that just means more wires more clutter behind my tv. Not worth it

I got the Fire TV for me and the Fire Stick for my wife. I am hugely impressed on how well this works to cut the cable cord. Live TV and sports. Network TV and more TV shows and movies than I could count. If you can't find something of interest on this your not trying!

What else that needs to be said, it's Amazon Fire TV, one of the most popular streaming devices out there. It serves me way better than my Smart TV (some Smart TVs are not as smart as you think) as it buffers less & has a lot more apps.

Not a fan of amazon interface and product. Better streaming devices out there.

This product is the easiest way to turn your TV into a Smart TV.

I bought this fire tv because we have very poor outside internet but I have two local media servers, one plex and one hdhomerun OTA dvr. Both have apps that work very well on android devices which I can chromecast to my tv. I wanted the fire TV so I could use the two apps, plex and hdhomerun to eliminate havng to chromecast from a phone or tablet to watch on my big screen. I was very disappointed to find the fire tv apps far inferior to the android ones. On both apps the interface and remote control are non-intuitive and difficult to use. I am afraid I will be returning this unit. It might be fine for streaming outside internet content like netflix or HBO, but not for my two main internal media devices.

The Fire Tv is ok if you Amazon Plus. It does not have external storage capabilities. Limited storage if you buy movies via Amazon Prime.

Poor picture quality. I get better picture through the fire stick. Not all the apps download correctly. Couldn't get the mouse toggle to work. Tried everything. Taking it back.

I bought all these little gadgets so I could watch TV while visiting my wife's side of our family in the Philippines. Sling, Amazon Prime, or any other device won't work. Does anyone out there know a device I can buy that will work in the Philippines? I had to pay $35 dollars to the NFL for 1 game. I love it when we are home in Alaska, but we plan to visit my wife's family four months a year. What can I do?

Keeps Freezing Stopping Just Awful Playback Very very disappointed in Amazon for awful product

I spent three hours trying to install an Amazon Fire TV to no avail. Every time I entered my password, the Fire TV would not connect. I live in a condo, so there's no issue with WiFi signal strength. I called my ISP, the router manufacturer and Amazon, and none of them could help. I modified numerous settings on the router admin even though other items (laptop, phone, etc.) were connected to the same WiFi network with no issues. Amazon indicated the item was probably defective, so I returned it. After three hours of frustration, I plugged in an existing Apple TV from two years ago. It connected immediately with no issues. I will never buy an Amazon Fire TV again nor would I recommend it to anyone. When I returned this piece of garbage I bought another Apple TV instead, which also connected successfully in a matter of minutes.

To get to the point, IT SUCKS. It crashes, all the time!!! I got Direct TV Now, to cut the cord with the cable company, and they gave me an Apple Tv.It works really well, so I know it's not the streaming service. I'm not sure I'm going to stay with it, so I bought this product for the bedroom, because of the price and reputation, bad mistake. Will look for something else, than Amazon streaming devices.

This new one Don't even have RJ45 and it's pulling down on the TV HDMI port. Grrrrr.... I paid a lot for my TV not going to have this hang off the back I will be looking for an older one that will work right
