Awesome picture apps in 4 k works faster than last one recently that came out

I purchased this for my mother who is resistant to learning tech but for some reason has found the Fire TV and Alexa OK to work with and figure out. I'm glad I did because it has really worked well for integrating our Plex server, Amazon & Netflix and digital antenna. It is a solid product.

What I like: 1) I picked this because I wanted 4K along with the voice commands when paired with the Echo. I find it using the most to play, pause, or skip around. 2) I also do a bit of home automation so I was able to have my sound bar volume up show notification on the TV using 'Notifications for FireTV'. As the soundbar doesn't have a LED indicating the volume level. 3) The UI is very fast and responsive. 4) Most of the apps like Netflix and HBO go work welll with voice search. Cons: 1)Searching across your apps for content doesn't work as well as commercials lead you to believe. It mostly leads you to Amazon content they want you to buy/rent. 2)YouTube has to work through Firefox and thus voice searches there don't work. Use the D-pad is painful for searching.

We get a clearer picture than with previous models of the fire tv and it was priced lower than competitors products too. Really fantastic value and performance too.

I bought this to watch Amazon prime movies. The quality is very good easy to set up and use. I recently bought a 4K tv and wicked I’d got the 4 k version.

Upgraded from a fire stick to the fire TV and can’t get over the speed increase. This thing is fast, picture is great! Easy to use with minimal setup!

Small but powerful. It takes up little space but pack's a punch.

I purchased this product to move between televisions as the need arises. The 4K picture it projects on my Sony 4k TV is remarkable, considering it is running on Wi-Fi. I can connect this to any TV anywhere within my Wi-Fi range, and watch programs. I like it!!

I love this new 4K fire TV is easy to hide behind your tv or any devices. I just don’t like the power cord design but it doesn’t bother me. Best of all I can install the latest Kodi and watch movies! This is better than Roku and others in my opinion. Buy it!

Nice streaming device in 4k..has many many apps to choose from.processor is ultra fast than previous generation,and small and compact size..i love it.

Works like a charm, easy to setup. Let's you install 3rd party software like kodi etc, just check out you tube for instructions. Netflix and amazon tv work flawless as well. Alexa voice is a nice feature but I prefer my Logitech all in one remote.

Love the features it comes with. Movies are showing crisp and clear. Colors are vibrant. Let me sum this up for you. The Device Is Exactly As Advertised! For those using Alexa You're sure going to love this device even more! Great little gadget!!

Bought this mainly because I have a 4k tv. I was going to get the fire TV stick because it was on sale but choose this instead. It has more RAM and is a newer model. I also like that it's small and can hang behind the TV. I'm not disappointed.

Any one can use it. Easy to install. It makes the picture more brighter and more clear. If you have a 4k TV then this is the best to use.

I basically got this so that I could activate things through my Echo, but it has a hard time finding it. Then, for some reason, anytime I open the Hulu app, it never stops trying to load. All my other apps work just fine, but Hulu just won't load, even after I left it alone for a few days. It could be all the new devices using my router, or just Hulu itself. Whatever it is, it just kinda sucks. On the other hand, the general layout is pretty neat, it just gets a little confusing if you're used to streaming things through a game console or another streaming service like Roku. I haven't used it a whole lot, but I imagine that after a while longer, it may earn at least one more star rating from me. YOU SHOULD KNOW, this is probably going to appeal to you more than other devices if you have Amazon Prime, otherwise, you'd probably be better off getting a Roku.

I have a FireTv stick, FireTv and now the latest one. Love it. I watch my Amazon shows & movies and also my Netflix. Looks great. Now I have one on each Tv. Got rid of cable/satellite tv. Only have an antenna, FireTv and Apple TV. Love it

I have both the (Roku) 4K and the Fire 4K and I prefer this much better! Picture is sharper, streams well and is more user friendly.

The device itself couldn’t be easier to use. Simply plug it into your TV, and you’re good to go! With this device, you’ll be able to use apps such as Netflix, Pandora, HBO, and even Amazon prime (provided you’re a prime member).

This is more of a replacement for the current Firestick and not the Fire TV. Yes, it is 4k capable which the Firestick isn't but the older version Fire TV was already 4k capable and it has more Ram 2gb vs 1gb on the New Fire TV. Plus the Old version Fire TV had a Micro SD slot which the New Version does not have. The new Fire TV is somewhat of a crossbreed between the Firestick and the old Fire TV. Better than the Firestick and not as good as the older version Fire TV. I am sure this "New" Fire TV was pushed out to market for the Holiday shopping season. My guess is that another version will be released next year which will have more Ram and the basic capability of using the remote to turn up the volume on your TV which is basic and available on most any other streaming device except for the Fire TV/Stick.

As my summary states, this device unlocked the full potential of maybe 4K TV. There’s a stark difference in the picture and motion quality of the built In Netflix/Hulu/Amazon app in my TV vs. what comes out of the 4K Fire TV.
