Yellow at bottom of screen

The device is “sold out”, which I assume is due ro the mass screen issues, so my only option is to return it. Ideally, I want to get an exchange when they have the screen figured out. I contacted Amazon about a replacement since they have a disclaimer about this screen issue and option for a replacement on their product page. I was told that Best Buy would need to contact them for a replacement. Needless to say, I am frustrated with my lack of an exchange option at this point in time.

Colorsoft needs some de-bugging

Has a yellow line streak on the bottom that creeps up the sides. Had to return but Will repurchase when the bugs are fixed.

Quality Control Issues

I figured it was worth the risk. It was truly risky as there were several reviews online detailing the yellowing issue on the bottom portion of the screen. The unit I received unfortunately had the issue. I contacted Amazon directly, as it is their product, and they sent me out a replacement unit. Sigh, the replacement had the same issue. Subsequently, they sent me a replacement for the replacement, and that one also had the same issue. So, at the end, I returned all 3 units. Even with the $50 off sale, I couldn't unsee the yellowing. It was like a dead pixel on a TV during a pitch black scene. I couldn't unsee it. In addition, I thought 7 inches was the perfect size for an ereader, so the extra inches was too much for me to hold comfortably while reading. My kindle oasis is here to stay. Buttons matter.

Nice feel, major issues

BUT. when i sideloaded my hellboy GN collection to take on a trip - it rendered all of them in b&w. you cant load your stuff via usb. it has to go through some amazon shenanigans to get them in colour. Not acceptable for the price. Don't recommend.

We are sorry you did not have a good experience in store. The Kindle App is available in the Apple App Store and will work on the Ipad. The main difference between reading on the Ipad vs Kindle, is that Kindle offers a distraction free device that doesn’t have social media, notifications, or other apps. Kindle Colorsoft is also waterproof, unlike the Ipad.

As many other reviewers have commented, I also had the dreaded yellow discoloration on the bottom of the screen. Its actually really distracting to read on. Customer service said they have a fix coming out in the next few days so we’ll see how it is after. The Kindle itself is fine. The larger screen is nice and the color looks really nice on an e-ink screen. Not super bright but its not a tablet. Dont buy an e-reader thinking its going to be a tablet. I would recommend waiting to see if a fix comes through before purchasing. It’s a shame that Amazon released such a requested product in the state that its in.
