This is my third Kindle, and I use it a lot. I was having trouble opening it, which turned out to be quite simple once the technician showed me how to push the right buttons. Just what I was looking for. Wanted something dedicated to reading as I get easily distracted reading on a phone/iPad. Syncs with Libby/Kindle reader seamlessly.

It's alittle bit smaller than I thought it would be, but still bigger than a phone so it's good especially for the price!

This was absolutely the best gift to give to my twin 20 year-olds. They both loved the slim nature, the feeling of the surface, and the lighting control. And yes, some do need another device. While you can download the app on your phone, most of us end up distracted by other apps. With a dedicated device, both of them are already on their 2nd and 3rd books. I also like that I am not tempted to check IG or email and can read myself to sleep without a nightlight.
