I only got this thing so I could buy books and I'll gladly read them via some other medium. It's definitely not worth what Amazon wants for it. None of this is Best Buy's fault. It's just too laggy to use it. If you just need to download or buy books this is probably the cheapest way to do so. You're far better off reading the books on your phone or tablet through the kindle application once you purchased them with the Kindle. Happy reading!

I have auto books but love reading books too. I bought the case too and I read while I am waiting or at night, instead of getting on computer all the time.

Never worked

There was a hardware issue and Best Buy refused to reimburse us for it because we were one day outside of the stingy 15 day return policy. So Best Buy apparently thinks it's appropriate to sell completely faulty products and take no responsibility.

Posted .Hello Elison! I am so sorry your mother is having trouble charging her new Kindle. I would recommend trying to use a different AC adapter, cord, and even different outlet or a combination of all 3 to see if it isn't a bad power cable or power supply. If that still doesn't work, then there may be something wrong with the actual port in the e-reader itself. I would recommend contacting Amazon Customer Support at 888.280.4331 to troubleshoot further to see what options are available.
