There was a hardware issue and Best Buy refused to reimburse us for it because we were one day outside of the stingy 15 day return policy. So Best Buy apparently thinks it's appropriate to sell completely faulty products and take no responsibility.

Not sure why I couldn't get a refund back to my card and I don't go to best buy often.

To do this, press and hold the power button until either a power dialog box appears or the screen goes blank. Continue holding the power button for 40 seconds, then release. After a few seconds, the charge indicator light turns back on and the device reboots. Good but stopped working after 1 month

Posted .Hello Elison! I am so sorry your mother is having trouble charging her new Kindle. I would recommend trying to use a different AC adapter, cord, and even different outlet or a combination of all 3 to see if it isn't a bad power cable or power supply. If that still doesn't work, then there may be something wrong with the actual port in the e-reader itself. I would recommend contacting Amazon Customer Support at 888.280.4331 to troubleshoot further to see what options are available. We are sorry to hear that you are not pleased at the amount of titles available on Kindle. You can gain access to more titles with services like Kindle Unlimited which requires a monthly subscription. If you do not want to utilize that service, Libby is a compatible app with Kindle E readers. If your daughter has the Libby app on her phone or another mobile device, you can easily borrow books, and send them to the Kindle, just like a library! Books on Libby must be E reader compatible, but you will be automatically redirected to Amazon.com and choose which device you want to send books to. You can manage content from your Libby and Amazon accounts.

Battery has lasted weeks if I read every now and then.

I found myself having a difficult time reading physical books since I'm used to looking at my phone screen. It's been the perfect solution for me personally. It's a simple model, only able to download books to read. It charges fast and there's plenty of setting options to adjust lighting and whatnot so it's easy on the eyes (and you can read in the dark). My only complaint is that when you change pages of a book, there's a stutter like movement so you can see the previous page until it sets.
