I bought her this since she's a book addict and cant seem to put them down. This made gifting so much easier since now I can just get her a giftcard to download a book online.

We had the 2015 7th Gen and upgrading to this was a must for mother's Day. She loves this thing! She has noticed several big upgrades compared to the older, most notably the screen size and clarity. Highly recommend!

I would not have purchased it if I had known that. I also am not a fan of the new Kindle itself as it is not as user friendly than the previous Paperwhite I had that I only replaced because it would no longer hold a charging cable. This one has an awkward power button location, the pages turn with the slightest hand movement, making you lose your place in a book all the time. The search feature is also too sensitive. I also find it does not auto download books quite often. You have to tell it to download, adding a step that did not exist before.
