I owned a first generation kindle (that was shaped like a book, with one side wider and heaver to mimic a spine, BTW) when they first came out. Then I owned a kindle 2, which really didn't improve much except on the physical shape and memory. But this one is a huge improvement. Having the back-lit display is completely awesome. I thought I was going to miss a physical keyboard but I definitely don't. If you have a non-backlit kindle, I'd definitely recommend this one. Also, I've played with my friend's Voyager, and I definitely don't think it's worth the extra price for what you get.

My second purchase, new font is very readable in any light and especially outdoors. The battery life is great, no recharging every night like a phone or tablet.

I prefer this version of the kindle to the previous generation. It has a backlight that can be adjusted easily and its light weight. I did have a crack appear in my screen and it made the backlight shine through awfully bright in that area. Unsure how it happened but Amazon replaced it nonetheless.

My wife bought this and she couldn't be happier no glare and stays charged for ever. He new go to for reading in the tub with the back light.

My original Kindle was no longer working. It was 6 years old and had been used a lot. . I especially like the smaller size of my new Kindle and the backlight.

it's very easy and light to use and the back light is very similar to real paper, so it's my best friend anywhere especially in bed before falling a sleep

Product is pretty good and very comfortable to read ebooks and enjoying the same experience of book reading. Strongly recomend this product.

The kindle is easy on the eyes to read. The light doesn't make the screen look like a computer screen which I was worried about. Simple and easy to use.

Great for reading books, backlight is useful. Love being able to get library books on it. Not sure I'm a fan of the ads when the unit is asleep though..

The e-reader is not to large or heavy. Very easy to use. Very easy on the eyes. Almost seems like reading a paperback novel when using.

i love this kindle! I got the one with the backlight because it helps if you want to read at night! I got this specific kindle because I knew I would only be using it to read books & I didn't need the newer ones that you can get online & do much more (I have a phone & computer for that). I also love the look of this kindle, the screen is made to be glare free if you're reading outside in the sun and I love that! Definitely recommend this kindle to anyone!

The Paperwhite Kindle is awesome. Lightweight and easy to use. I can dim the backlight so that I don't disturb my husband when I read in bed at night.

I absolutely love my paperwhite kindle! It is easy to use and the battery last a long time. I even read more often now that I have it.

I bought this item as a Christmas gift for my Mom. She absolutely loves it! She uses it every night and has only had to charge it once since she has had it. Small, convenient and she LOVES the screen. My Mom travels and reads a lot so she loves not having to take several books with her as she is traveling. Would definitely recommend this item.

This kindle has a fantastic reading format. The size is compact so it can easily fit into a purse or large pocket. Easy to navigate.

The paper white is easy to hold and simple to use. Downloading books is very fast. The screen is easy on the eyes and makes reading a book enjoyable.

Bought this item as a present for my college-age son. Didn't know much about kindles, but my research led me to this model. May not have all the bells and whistles of a more expensive version, but it is suiting him just fine. Easy to use and read, good size. I'm pleased he's pleased!

Very satisfied with this product. For months, I have been using both my phone and laptop for reading books, not too bad, but the battery consumption is a deal-breaker (on phone and laptop). With this reader, you get weeks of battery life, and the display... It looks just like a page from a book. Very easy on the eyes! I have about 300 pdf books on my Paperwhite. Also, pick up the paperwhite case, very nice to keep your device protected.

The Kindle Paperwhite is very easy to use and very clear to read. I enjoy carrying it with me for quick access to my current novel.
