Had previously been using third gen kindle (2011) but this paperwhite is a great upgrade. Love the backlight and new font.

This is my 3rd Kindle. My first one was the original. I didn't like the side bevel page turner because I would accidentally press it from time to time. My second was a Touch. I like it. I still have it, but the lighting options for it either left a hot spot on the screen (bright spot not literally hot) or didn't light it enough when reading at night. This one is perfect on the lowest setting. It's plenty bright and it's much faster than my first Kindle.

Great e-reader, long battery life. Was hesitant to make the change from actual books to an e-reader but I have no regrets!

The PaperWhite was the perfect upgrade to my older Kindle that required a light in order to read in low light conditions.

My wife is an avid reader and used her phone for everything. Aside from all of the advice about the blue light disrupting her sleep, the light from her phone kept me awake. This eliminates that issue for both of us and provides her with a bigger viewing area. The controls took some getting used to but once it was synced she was off and reading. Only update I would suggest for future models is to change the charging port to USB C to match current phones.

Fantastic Kindle. Worth it for the back light. Wife uses it everyday especially when rocking our new born in the dark

This was a gift for my girlfriend, she loves the paperwhite. Screen is great and the 300 PPI is very sharp. Highly suggested.

Works great. Easy to use and small enough for travel. The only complaint is my first one would not charge after 2 yrs of use.
