I have an iPad, but the paperwhite kindle is easier to carry and can be read in sunlight without glare. It holds lots of books and connects easily to the internet to download books from the cloud, or from the amazon store. I like the password protection that is available.

Permanent offers of games are a nuisance. But the reading experience is very good.

I really love this device. Everything you read about why you would want a standalone independent reading device has some merit, especially the wish to avoid all the other digital distractions come from using the Kindle app on a smart phone or iPad. However, my vision may not be the best and I like to run it at the brightest screen level and it only goes a couple days or so without needing a battery charge when you run the screen at full brightness.

Whit version seems to be manufactured with a better screen. Traded in Blk version for Wht version perfect!!!

Doesn't have the all the features of a tablet but if you want to read in the sun, the paper white is the best option.

I haven't purchased a dedicated reader before, but bought this for a cruise where I knew it would be too sunny for an iPad, and this was easy to load up with books for my kids and I and it looked great in the bright sun while wearing sunglasses. Happy with the purchase.

I gifted this product to my brother, he liked it a lot. Better Battery life and light to read in night is really useful.

This was an excellent gift for my wife. She always wanted a standard kindle, but this was one that a few of her friends had. She loves the display and I like that I can sleep beside her when she reads at night. Perfect for someone who doesn't like the phone backlight.

I have had both the Kindle and the Nook ereader. They are similar in almost every way, with one big difference. Amazon has more ebooks available, and they slightly cheaper. Plus, then I bought the Kindle, it was on sale for $99, making it the same price as the Nook.

If you like reading from a electronic screen this reader is great. Print sharp and easy to read.

Very small and compact, easy to carry around. The glare free screen is easier on my eyes while reading.

I bought this one for my wife for Mother's Day and she just loves it. I have had the same for a couple of years and always enjoyed it, and she was borrowing it all the time to read out in the backyard. Now I solved the problem by buying her one of her own. We're both happy.

I love this for the sheer fact that I don't have to carry around all of the different books I am reading. Those books can get heavy! The syncing between reading and listening on Audible has really improved since I tried using it with the original Kindle Fire tablet.

This is my third Kindle. This e-reader works as advertised and has made my reading time quite enjoyable. I love how the illumination is just what I need, when I need it. The adjustable text size is perfect for older readers. Comfortable to hold.

This is the second Kindle Paperwhite we have purchased for one of our Grand Children. This is a great tool to promote reading for kids or adults. This tool combined with Amazon's available online subscriptions or purchasing books individually is the way to go.

Bought this for my wife during a great sale, 40% off. It is all that it has promised. She loveseat and can hardly put it down. Light, easy set up, shared information with her iPad. Watch other sales like this for a basic Kindle that delivers.

I overall love my kindle paperwhite but am rather disappointed that some libraries are using the cloud library and not overdrive. I currently borrow a lot of library ebooks using overdrive and now I have found out my new library is using the cloud library therefore I can not borrow any books from it because the paperwhite is not compatible. Very disappointed! Hoping that someone comes up with a fix for this issue. I can't be the only one!
