This is the second Kindle Paperwhite I have owned. The first one died two years after I purchased it and I wanted to wait for a big sale before getting the next one. Build quality is high as before and the device itself works like a charm. Amazon will likely be updating these models in the next year or so but this works as well as I can ask for.

Replaced my old Kindle. Smaller, more manageable and backlit.

First purchase of an e reader. Kindle Paperwhite is very refined after many generations of change on Kindles. Device is responsive for loading and downloading new books. Backlight is easy to use and adjustable. Our library has over 9000 books compatible with Kindle for checkout. Get the magnetic cover (Kindle brand or OEM) as it turns the device on and off with opening.

This version makes it incredibly easy to read. Much better than an iPad.

I was looking at the Kindle and ended up buying the paperwhite for the backlighting which works great. The battery does last weeks as mentioned in the details. I wish I would have waited a few weeks to buy since they dropped the price.

I started with the original kindle- loved it but light was bright on the cover for night reading. Then got the fire as a gift and love that but reads more like on a tablet.. Broke down and bought the latest paperweight to read at night- great light to dim for night reading. Very light too!

Great battery life, lightweight, with a great textured feel

I just purchased it yesterday, and am no expert by far, but setup was a breeze. I also took it to the beach today and found that it was like reading a piece of paper. Amazing.

This is my second kindle purchase. The first is still working fine just not backlit or paper white. The clarity is great, good size, and lightweight for extended reading. No bells and whistles, just easy and convenient reading.

I really enjoy my paper white, it is like holding a book. It works great in all lights. I especially like being able to make the fount the size I want it.

I was using my iPad to read books via the Kindle app. No matter how much I adjusted the lighting it would start to bother me after a short while. However, this was well worth the purchase. I am not experiencing eye strain like before. Now I can enjoy reading longer, lighter weight device to hold, and doesn't kill my iPad battery.

So far I have enjoyed my Kindle Paper White E reader. It is light weight, easy to read inside or outside. The battery life so far is fine. I had to order a case & charger directly from Amazon, could not find instore to fit
