There's not much to say, it's really a simple device, and that's why I got it. It's for reading on a screen that won't bother my eyes after a long period of time. There are ads, but they are all specifically for the device, and aren't intrusive. Your books are listed above the ads.

I bought this product based on reviews, and it fits the description as a near-perfect, reasonably-priced, all-purpose Kindle reader. The screen's front-lit display allows me to read under all lighting conditions, from bright sunlight to dark, without eyestrain. I bought the Paperwhite as a supplemental reader for my Samsung tablet so that I could read outside. After several months of use, I'm finding that I do all my reading on the Paperwhite. I read several hours a day and the battery lasts four or five days under that usage, which is a great change from my tablet, which needed a recharge daily, usually at an inconvenient time. I recommend buying the companion leather case because the case puts the Paperwhite to sleep with the cover is closed, extending battery life.

The paper like screen always makes me feel liking reading a book. More, the size is good as well, it fits in my bag, and it’s not heavy at all. Can’t live without it. lol.

My wife's G1 Kindle had broken and we replaced it with this model a couple months back. I was still reading books and decided to try a Kindle. It's a great method to read indoors or out, in light or dark, etc. I'm not going back to books (and I hate that because I'm in the printing business - sort of like eating your own).

I read reviews on Amazon some bashing it because they said the screen wasn't paper white. Well it isn't IF you have the back light off. It's white with the back light on. Even with my back light on durning daylight I still got a few weeks of read time out of this. It's amazing don't let others tell you it's not. And the adds only on the lock screen.

This is very easy to read and use. The light weight is perfect.

I've been wanting a Kindle Paperwhite for a while, putting off buying some books I want to read because I didn't want to be carrying all that weight with me when I'm traveling. I'm so glad I finally got it! I loaded the books on, and it's been really easy to use. The controls are intuitive, and the light is great. Easy to use, easy to read on it.

This version of the Kindle really does a great job as you read for extended periods. The screen allows you to read in different light levels, including outdoors, but more importantly, if you're in the kitchen and then move into the family room, the screen seems to adjust and really makes it a pleasure to use this new version vs. my older version.

My kindle is the best. Love that I can review a book before deciding to purchase it. Carry it with me wherever I go and any wait time is a breeze having something to read and pass time, especially since I dont need to have internet access one a book is bought, I can even read in the car. Dont know how I lived without it.

I enjoy using my kindle. It is lightweight and I can just take it out and read while waiting for the bus or at any time. The Kindle is easy to use and easy on the eyes and it is perfect when reading outdoors.

Perfect for reading outside or at night in bed. I have a tablet I can read on via the app and it's great during the day.. Inside. But if I want to get outside when it's nice weather and relax with a book, the tablet is not ideal. This reader is. Battery life is good and I'm thoroughly enjoying it for its purpose.

A fantastic reader! I got this from my fiancé for Christmas and she loves it! It has a fantastic weight, screen brightness, battery life, and the fact that it's waterproof as the icing on the cake!

This Kindle is a gift for my daughter's birthday but I chose the Paperwhite because I have one and I love it. It holds the charge for a very long time. I can read in bed without a light on because of the back lighting. I have owned Kindles since they first came out and Oprah recommended them. I have owned three since that time and I still love them just as much as my first one. If I had to make one criticism I would say that I wish the books were a little cheaper to purchase; sometimes they are more expensive than a paperback. I have recently discovered, however, that I can borrow books from my library and download them to my Kindle and they don't cost me anything! YAY!

This kindle has a slightly bigger screen than the base model kindle. But what makes it worth the extra $$ is the internal light. No more being on an airplane or in a dark restaurant with no lighting! This one weighs a few ounces more! Keep that in mind if you have small hands, arthritis or carry it in your purse. I notice the difference when carrying it throughout the day in my purse and it is noticeably heavier than my old one. If looking for a lighter option go with a base model or a Kindle Voyager. All in all, enjoying this upgrade!

I debated for over a year about getting a Kindle. After trying to read my tablet outside this summer with sunglasses and sitting under an umbrella...I finally bought my Kindle Paperwhite. I couldn't be happier and I've read more books in the past couple of months then I have in years. It's as good as they say and easy to read in ANY light!

Purchased two---one for me and one for my wife. Kindle is great to read books, etc. Paperwhite is good for daytime or nighttime reading in the dark. During the day I like it with the light off. My wife likes to read with light on all the time. Same price as Amazon and I could take it with me that same day

I love the Amazon White for its size and lighted screen.
